shotsup 832 Posted October 30, 2015 An Iron Maiden album. Assume you meant "any" First 5 were great and would qualify as a Fav. Somewhere in Time was on the bubble for me and downhill after that. Maybe they were good in their own way but was lost on me. Piece Of Mind Number of the Beast Powerslave Iron Maiden Killers

Somewhere in Time has two of my favorite Maiden songs, Wasted years and Alexander The Great. I also like Heaven Can Wait a lot. I like the order you put them in too, probably the same for me all the way around on your post.

Piece Of Mind Number of the Beast Powerslave Iron Maiden Killers Actually, now that I think on it for a few moments, I am pretty sure Fear of the Dark was the last album of theirs' I bought. I just did not like enough of their new stuff that made me want to go out and buy another of their albums.

cmh6476 768 Posted October 30, 2015 any of you fools have a nice record player? I'm looking forward to the day, likely when my kids are older and moved on to have a nice stereo with vinyl player down in the basement, so I can actually just throw on an album and enjoy

The "Oldies" station was playing U2 the other day. I'm thinking, why are they playing this. This isn't old.

ZeroTolerance 582 Posted October 30, 2015 Right. The "Oldies" station was playing U2 the other day. I'm thinking, why are they playing this. This isn't old. That moment when an Alice in Chains song comes on...the classic rock station.
vuduchile 1,941 Posted October 30, 2015 I haven't listened to or purchased an entire album in decades. I'm a poster boy for record industry ills. Before iTunes was invented, I had these at the top of my list: Boston Toys In the Attic Thriller Purple Rain Van Halen Back in Black Revolver Pronounced Leh-nerd skin-nerd What's Going On Rumours The Joshua Tree Appetite For Destruction The Stranger London Calling Ramones

Sho Nuff 720 Posted October 30, 2015 Nirvana Unplugged was great. Metallica Master of Puppets and And Justice For All are both in the top for me...not a bad song on either of them. GnR Appetite is close to that...but at least 3 songs I could leave off of that album...maybe 4. Michael Jackson HIStory: Past, Present, and Future Part 1...disc one...some great song (and a few to throw out...but overall, very listenable)
cmh6476 768 Posted October 30, 2015 there are a lot of albums I could throw on and just play over and over Some newer ones that come to mind: Alt-J - This is All Yours Jack White - Lazaretto The Black Keys - El Camino The Avett Brothers - The Carpenter Beck - Morning Phase That said, if anyone has suggestions of new music I should be checking out based on these I've listed, let me know

cmh6476 768 Posted November 2, 2015 Yes they do. I'm part of an org that does a folk festival and our headliner had vinyl available for two albums which also came with a cd. I'm guessing they would have sent digital file as well

I love many of the historic albums some of you "more seasoned" geeks are referencing, but how much do you seek out new music you enjoy? Out of the last 20 years I've maybe heard 20 songs that have something new to offer that hasn't already been done better by one of the hundreds of 70's bands that I grew up with. I'm still exploring so much that I missed from the greatest era of rock.
titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted November 2, 2015 I'm aware they still exist. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say, that with the exception of certain bands that are on my "watchlist", that's not really how I discover my music anymore.
