What does a sea lion, the space shuttle and Tylenol have in common?

They're all looking for a tight seal.

Did you hear that they are sending up another teacher on the next shuttle mission?

She's going to be a substitute.

So it was 30 years ago that NASA switched up their preferred space drink.

They went to Ocean Spray, as they couldn't get 7 Up anymore.

Did you know the Challenger Astronauts were washing their hair when the shuttle exploded?

They found their head and shoulders on the beach.

I was in Fla at disney and having a great time when everything stopped and everyone started to cry. It was my first experience with mass emotion.

I was a soph. in HS... Those engineers all but ran out onto the tarmac to try and delay that launch. The NASA higher ups murdered those people.

If we are going to do Jesus jokes, I suggest that we do it in a different thread. To do otherwise, would be disrespectful.

Yes, we may have to switch to a Jesus joke thread.

Because while there may be more Challenger jokes, they haven't surfaced yet.

Jesus guys......

It's been 30 focking years.

I was running around Junior High saying these the day after.

if I had the internet when I was 12 I would have been an even bigger terror.

Did you hear the National Education Association gave Christa McAuliffe a special award?

In her 11 years of teaching, she only blew up in front of her class just one time!

I was in 6th grade, and we watched every launch live on TV in class. For some reason, we didn't watch this one, but once the news was out that there had been a crash, we watched the footage the rest of the day.

I remember watching this in 5th grade class. One of the few very vivid memories I have from that far back.

All of these jokes are bringing back some good memories too!

Delaying the highly televised launch again is a far worse fate than making America watch some astronauts die.

I was a freshman in college, going through Hell Week in our fraternity. At an engineering school. So the brothers were not in a good mood, especially the aero/astrology majors.

Two days prior the Bears kicked the Pat's ass in the Super Bowl. The school is in MA. Basically we had a tough week. :(

I remember being in the library in the fifth grade, the teacher started crying, I asked her "why, you didn't know her or them.." Then I found the book with paintings of boobs

[sixth grade humor]

What was the last thing that went through Christie McAuliffe's mind?

A little piece of metal this big.

I remember hearing that they didn't die from the explosion and probably lived for a short time after. I've never checked to see if that was true.

The cabin was found intact as I recall. They most likely died on impact with the ocean...the question is whether they had lost consciousness from the free fall before they hit.
