When it was Gore/GWB and Kerry/GWB and when it was Hilary/Obama about to be McCain/Obama, I remember knowing and picturing who was going to make it all the way. The odd thing about this election cycle..I draw a blank combined with a sense of great impending change. Hopefully that proves to be as flaky as it should be. If I give it any credence, it means 1 of 3 things: Best case scenerio, the President on 1/20/17 won't be any of these frontrunners. Alternatively, I'm not going to see 1/20/17, or this nation gets disrupted from electing someone in November because something really big/decimating goes down. It's weird for me to just not be able to see it, at all, shaking out on the track it's on (as admittedly flaky as that sounds).

When Trump puts up protectionist barriers, there may be ramifications for me personally that blow my setup up; the Chinese are petty like that. I may well have to deal with it.

One thing I worry about a lot is how my kids are going to pay for college. I can't afford it. It's a problem I know well since when I was young, I couldn't either. I went in the Army and in turn went off to war in Iraq for four months. At least, in 1991, that was for a good reason. I could justify it in my head. Now we're in perpetual war and are plagued with politicians that don't mind sending them off into harm's way for no good or dubious reasons, I don't want my kids being blown up for refereeing and protecting some ungrateful America-hating Islamic turds in a Muslim civil war. Fock that.

 

I can make my problem go away though. In the other party is a guy that offers to take that college burden off my shoulders. Even better, I don't pay taxes (overseas income is exempt from taxes up to ~$92K or so and I don't come anywhere near that) , that's for other people like you. Sanders would have you and everybody else here at FFToday reach into your pockets to the benefit of my kids.

 

But I won't do that to you guys either. The Scandinavian countries are nice and all but they're taxing at ~60% to make it happen which I just would hate to see in the US. It's not the kind of country I want the US to be. Although I do like and appreciate his honesty and integrity, I can't go for Sanders. Meanwhile, Hillary has little upside either.

 

I swear Jerry, I'm not doing this out of spite. Trump speaks to me on a level that resonates well with my white trashiness. I agree with him on a number of issues even if details are severely lacking. I honestly think Trump would make a less bad President than Sanders or Hillary (or Cruz or Rubio).

 

They all suck except for Kasich. Trump is the least bad option although Kasich may now finally be in play. If Rubio drops out and Kasich remains, at that point, I will stop being happy seeing to see Trump win all these states. I'd want Kasich to start winning some, lock it up, take it to the convention.

Trump should do well in the Red states of the south. Bernie just showed how vulnerable Hillary is in Michigan on trade, Trump can appeal on that ground, if he can hold the south and pick up rust belt states like PA, MI, OH, IN, and WI, he can win. I think it's a longshot though. While he motivates crossover votes from disaffected whites, the Hispanics and lack of enthusiasm from establishment Republicans could do him in.

 

It's conceivable the establishment Republicans would undermine his presidential ambitions and conceed the election to Hillary in order to regroup hoping to get him off the scene and put the pitchfork peasants back in their place come 2020 after four years of Hillary gets them all riled up.
