My mom recently saw that movie. She is a huge Melissa McCarthy fan. She is near blind and has a short term memory of a goldfish, and even she to this day thinks that movie sucked balls.

i remember laughing at literally 1 scene. something where george clooney is chopping a ton of carrots. and it probably wasn't even very funny but I was so upset I had paid to see such a terrible movie, my anger made me laugh. ... just found it on youtube and its not even funny.

 

 

I saw american hustle on a date and did not think I was going to make it through. It felt so much like burn after reading (a ton of big name actors in a contrived pile of dog shiiit) that I was convinced it was a cohen brothers movie.

My wife likes Meg Ryan and Tom hanks. So to be nice I rented "Joe versus the Volcano" on amazon prime. It was pretty bad.

We were 14. It took a great deal of trouble to get ahold of a copy. And it has bewbs in it. And we turned it off.

 

That is a level of bad hard to achieve.

That is extremely weird. I have sat through that movie at least twice as a teen/young adult. By no means is it good, but still.

A classic, hilarious in so many ways. I can see the comedy not being for everyone though.

I liked that movie.

Then again, I've always found Chris Elliot funny.

I've always maintained that if they had marketed it as a comedy instead of some deep, thoughtful film (remember all of the pre-release hype?) -- it would have been a comedic hit.

 

But they didn't and it was the most epic waste of film in the history of film-making in my opinion. That all these years later someone can ask this question and that film still INSTANTLY pops into my head without fail speaks volumes for it's suckitude. And I've watched a lot of horrendous films in my life.
