Did he really commit suicide, or did he Michael Hutchence himself?

Supposedly his wife had sent someone to do a welfare check on him (which is when they found his body) so I'm thinking maybe he sent her a text that made her worry about his state of mind before it happened.

Was at Lallapooloza in 1992. They had just finished playing earlier and me and some friends were waiting for the Red Hot Chili Peppers to come on. We were standing in the back of the crowd. Out of no where, Chris Cornell walks up to our group and asks what thought of the show. Two of the girls in our group started freaking out, "Oh my God...It's Chris Fawking Cornell!!!" He told them, "Hey man, relax I'm just a fan like everybody else." He hung out with us for a little while, said his goodbyes, and moved on. Cool dude. RIP.

Wiffleball let this one get by him. He's slipping.

R.I.P. But I have to say, I thought he already died a couple times. :dunno:

"Black Hole Sun" is really the only song I think I know of his.....I'd love to hear what some of you really like.

Any rumors as to why yet? Had he a history of depression?

I guess they didn't play The Day I Tried to Live at the show last night.

Then again, I guess it only says "Tried"

Funny you mention LaLaPalooza 92. That was the only time I've ever seen them.

Main Stage: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ministry, Ice Cube, Soundgarden, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Pearl Jam, Lush.
Side Stage: Rage Against The Machine (Irvine Meadows), Porno for Pyros, Temple of the Dog

:music_guitarred:

So many great bands!

Note if you put Cornell in pandora you get a random song from soundgarden, audooslave, himself, and temple of the dog on a loop. My wife and I listened for an hour today and never heard anything not including Cornell. That's tough to find with any other artist

Stretching a bit. I am sure that is not true.

Maybe just today and the next few days. He was not John Lennon and he took his own life. Relax. Was a fan but F him if he indeed hung himself.

Ice Cube is great. No Vaseline is one of the greatest diss songs created.

The absolute best diss song I've ever heard

Also a great stand alone song even if one didn't know that it was a diss song.

They were the power band of the 90's. I'm amazed that there weren't others considering the talent. Imagine Vedder. Nikki Sixxx, Steve Stevens, and a hard core drummer. With Slash or something else on the ticket.

Temple Of The Dog was great music. We need more bands like that.

Damn Yankees paved the way. :bandana:

Yes, asshats, I know that "Supergroups" have been a staple in music since music was born.

I am sure Ted Nugent punches himself in the face every time he hears a Damn Yankees song and realizes he played with guys from Styx and Night Ranger. Even Uncle Ted's chops could save this from being a Poseur-fest.

At least it put him back on the charts again. He'd been a has-been for ten years by then. Although I don't think he had much to do with the hits they had.

I can't argue with any of this. He has a cult following in the Greater Detroit Area, and I do like a lot of his old stuff. He was pretty much washed up by then and lended what talent he has to a couple of guys from shitty washed up or nearly washed up bands. Together, that gumbo produced a couple of "hits"

He had some killer shades in the High Enough video.
