Djgb13 2,339 Posted September 28, 2018 It won't be an issue for the vast majority of men. Seriously, have any of you guys known or been personally impacted by #MeToo? Do you guys know any victims of sexual assault abuse? I don't know a single dude who has been screwed over by the movement, but I know a few chicks that have been nearly raped by guys. And I'm sure most chicks aren't going to volunteer whether they've been raped or not. What ideas about interacting with women have been rendered obsolete? I do. Well it was before the metoo movement but when that whole Air Force scandal went down. They were convicting guys who had no evidence against them. Girl said they did it? Good enough for them. Had a guy I worked with get kicked out cause he finger banged a girl. Girl was a wh0re and was cheating on her husband at parties. Husband found out. She cried sexual assault. No evidence. He got kicked out. Girl divorced that guy anyway and married another guy I know

penultimatestraw 473 Posted September 28, 2018 No, BUT neither had Judge Kav until 3 weeks ago.. and based on accusations from 30 years ago.....uncorroborated by the victims own friends.......and his life is ruined. True, and if unfounded, the accusations are terrible. I think his life is permanently changed, but ruined is hyperbole. It will be a problem for some guys in positions of power, but for the rest of us? Meh.

Djgb13 2,339 Posted September 28, 2018 So it was before #metoo. Know any chicks who've been assaulted/raped? Yep sure do. But the instance I just talked about is essentially what metoo is about
Alias Detective 1,409 Posted September 28, 2018 True, and if unfounded, the accusations are terrible. I think his life is permanently changed, but ruined is hyperbole. It will be a problem for some guys in positions of power, but for the rest of us? Meh. Serial rapist, drunk, gang rapist, druggie, battery......think about that a sec and tell me anyone wants that reputation. Especially when uncorroborated by the victims own friends.
penultimatestraw 473 Posted September 28, 2018 Yep sure do. But the instance I just talked about is essentially what metoo is about So the question is, are the women helped/enabled by the #metoo movement overshadowed by guys who are falsely accused? Ideally, none of the accusations would be false and sexual abuse wouldn't be commonplace. Unfortunately, neither is the case.
Hardcore troubadour 15,517 Posted September 28, 2018 I know a handful of people affected by false accusations. Sexual and Racial. A woman I worked with just quit recently. She was accused of a using a racial slur about a year ago. It was unfounded but she never got over it and has to look at the POS who made It up ( to save his ass) everyday at work. She couldn't do it anymore. Sad, she was a pain in the ass but a good worker and needed the job. But it's never happened to Pen, so no one should worry. Especially when uncorroborated by the victims own friends. I don't think the accusations went that far, but anything is undesirable if he is innocent of wrongdoing. And as far as I can tell, only one of CBF's friends didn't corroborate her story. Everybody else (not her friends) said they couldn't remember. Admittedly, her friend's lack of corroboration makes the accusations seem pretty flimsy.

Voltaire 5,322 Posted September 28, 2018 Before #metoo maybe there was an under-reporting and after #metoo an over-sensitivity. Somewhere there should be a balance: #metoo+evidence would be nice.
Hardcore troubadour 15,517 Posted September 28, 2018 Know any chicks who've been assaulted or raped? Personally? No one raped that I know of. I'm sure plenty have been what is called assaulted these days. Check that, I knew one girl who was raped by a black and another girl I went to high school with was a prostitute and she was gang raped and beat pretty bad. Djgb13 2,339 Posted September 28, 2018 By the way, caught some of the highlights this morning. RLLD 4,255 Posted September 28, 2018 It seems as though we have multiple problems, that intersect. 1) Men can be dirtbags, even good men seem to allow inner demons to control their actions on occasion, it would seem. 2) Women are too afraid to come out, they are not always treated very well when they do, society tends to make it their fault. 3) We simply cannot allow accusations to be treated as absolute fact, sorry, cant do it. 4) How we handle "coming out" about these things can lead to negative outcomes, the current case in point, it feels like the Dem's weaponized this situation, it feels like they really just used this woman.....look how Nifong used the situation in a weaponized form; if we are going to pretend that cops are mistreating minorities, then why can't we pretend that women are just accusing because they can get revenge? My point being, rare occurrences should not be treated as a trend.

It is not impossible for allegations to be false, refer back to the Duke rape crap, we cannot allow simple allegations to become the final word, to ruin a person. It's too easy to weaponize this, I dont have a solution.....
5-Points 3,577 Posted September 28, 2018 I didn't see any of the hearing yesterday but I heard some of the testimony on the radio on the way to work this morning. Her voice reminded me of somebody trying to sound sick when they call their boss to say they "won't be in today." I stand by my original assessment. Fake. trumpurethra 42 Posted September 28, 2018 Like I said, I think he is going down. I would be very surprised if they get the confirm today. Like I also said, it will come down to his word versus hers, and she looked much better than he did. I also said, I have experienced this type of thing first hand. Was in the Navy during tailhook. During these things, women are always right. And you know what, I don't have a problem with that. As I also stated as a man you have a choice. You can adapt and deal with life and your surroundings as they are and get sh!t done or you can whine, b1tch and complain about sh!t. Basically, you can man the fock up or be a little b!otch. We all know which way the prez leans and after yesterday, it is obvious Kavanaugh is just as weaselly. In his opening statement he said he welcomes all investigations. He is good with a written prepared statement. Later on, when he was on his own with no script, he cracked. He was asked if he would welcome FBI investigation. He dodged the question. In addition he went out of the way to elaborate and embellish that he was a saint. Didn't drink or party. Again, a lie. What he should have done is said "yes, bring it on b!tch. FBI, CIA, I don't give a fock. Lets investigate the sh!t out this mother focker. And yes I drank like a fockin fish when I went to school. I also snorted a few lines off some hookers titties. You got a problem with that?". If he'd done that I would respect him. But after the clips I saw of him last night, he is not a man he is just another weasel. And experience tells me weasels often grope and force themselves on women. Suppose we will see soon enough. Oh yeah and his wife is fugly lol.
