RLLD 3,455 Posted November 9, 2018 I bought this thing a little over a year ago, was astonished that I actually got to use it a couple of times last year, my old one was no where near as good as this thing.....with about 1/3 of a mile of driveway, its so nice to have.... https://www.homedepot.com/p/Cub-Cadet-3X-26-in-357cc-Track-Drive-Three-Stage-Electric-Start-Gas-Snow-Blower-with-Steel-Chute-Power-Steering-and-Heated-Grips-3X-26-TRAC-w-LED-Light-Bar/301859992?cm_mmc=Shopping%7CG%7CBase%7CD28I%7C28-33_CHORE%7CNA%7CPLA%7CSnowblowers%7CFixed%7c71700000041074957%7c58700004387938478%7c92700036924264920&gclid=CjwKCAiA_ZTfBRBjEiwAN6YG4ZBp99y-GsvL88d6ijJhXZ2qU7iusY0udeZBbCcXGtVQ3Zls0hnwghoCQFEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted November 9, 2018 The Chicago area is pretty terrible weather wise. After staying in PA and MD for a while, it was nice to not have the ridiculous temperature dips that Chicago sees. Like Tuesday for example, the low will be 15. Back in MD, the lowest it will get over the next 10 days is 26. Although the humidity in the summer out there was the absolute suck
NorthernVike 2,080 Posted November 9, 2018 About five inches on the ground already and the ten day forecast does not get above freezing. On the bright side, we're making ice. Should be walking out to fish by Thanksgiving.

dain11279 928 Posted November 9, 2018 I don't see how you guys do it. I know you are used to it, but man......ugh. When you sit and think about it really does blow sometimes. Add a couple hours to your day if the weather is shitty with the shoveling, putting clothes on, taking them off, getting your car started, avoiding the morons on the roads who don't know how to drive in it. If it sucked bad enough I'd move though. Is what it is.
Kanil 519 Posted November 9, 2018 Mountains here are getting pounded (Breck got 45" in the last week) but east of the mountains (where most people in Colorado live) has been dry. Thanks, Rocky Mountains.

Thanks, Rocky Mountains. Is Breck fully open then? Haven't been there in prolly 20 years. Was a bast though. Ski'd Breck, Arapahoe, and Keystone on the same pass. patweisers44 697 Posted November 9, 2018 I was in florida for a week and got back Tuesday, woke up today to snow on the drive in. That "looking out the windshield looks like you are on the Enterprise while its warping" kind of snow that is almost hypnotic.
Kanil 519 Posted November 9, 2018 Is Breck fully open then? Haven't been there in prolly 20 years. Was a bast though. Ski'd Breck, Arapahoe, and Keystone on the same pass. Eldora, Loveland, A-Basin, Keystone, and Breck are all open (not fully though). Winter Park, Vail, and Copper open within the next week, and the rest will trickle in after that. Might head up to Breck on Monday with the kid as my wife is out of town.
seafoam1 1,879 Posted November 9, 2018 I love my Jeep Wrangler 4x4. It makes the snow fun again. As a kid in the Chicago area, I loved the snow and would be out in it every moment I could spare.

Kanil 519 Posted November 9, 2018 Also, Colorado gets more sunny days than 44 other states. It will snow a foot and be melted within 24 hours because it's clear and 60 degrees the next three days. I shoveled 3x last year (two of those on the same day) and one of them was probably not necessary.

Def seems better than when I was a kid. could not do that East Coast crap where the snow sticks around in huge grey and black piles for six months at a time. Snow. Melt. Gone. Perfect. TBayXXXVII 2,117 Posted November 9, 2018 I hate snow with a passion. Our winters (NJ), are usually reasonable, but I still hate it when it snows. I'd love to move more south to be rid of the crap.
frank 2,145 Posted November 10, 2018 I woke up a few hours ago and it was a little chilly. I checked and it was 72 in the house. I turned the heat on for the first time in months. I just checked and it is 45 outside.

sderk 1,040 Posted November 12, 2018 Be careful. Forecast for DC vicinity is a snowy winter. And this place can be horrible with as little as 3 inches. I was working downtown DC some years back when a storm hit. Something like 6 inches of snow hit. City was shut down completely. No snow plows in the budget I guess.
