Tim Pool did a podcast on a second civil war a few days ago, where they felt some sort of "peaceful divorce" is more likely.  I don't think that will ever happen, but that is their take.

There are quite clearly two distinct Americas at this point and I would definitely support a peaceful divorce to salvage what’s left of good, decent America; to preserve the things we use to believe in and the things we use to stand for.

I’m sure the left feels the same way about us that we feel about them. No hard feelings, just mutually decide to cut each other loose from the other to pursue our own visions of the future. No need to fight. But we’re also simply too divided to stay together.

I think you wildly overestimate the degree to which Americans are divided. It may seem that way on social media but you’re getting a take from a loud minority. Many of them pundits with an incentive to push that angle or hack partisans.

Most ordinary people of all political stripes aren’t hyperventilating about this stuff.

I don't see anyone surrendering territory peacefully.  I don't think that has happened on a large scale before.  After the death of Charlemagne in 814, his empire fell into conflict between his heirs and descendants for arguably 1200 years.  There was civil war up until 843.  Then you just have constant bickering and fighting.  Napoleon briefly conquered all.  Hitler briefly conquered all.  WWI.  WW2.  On and on until all of Europe effectively was a spent force in the mid 20th century.

Well you certainly are no student of history.  You haven't even read this thread.  Wars are often started by a small minority.  The majority usually are idle observers.  The Revolutionary War in 1776 was a small group of colonists rebelling effectively.  I've pointed this point several times in this thread.  Yet here you are, still not getting it in your head.

One of the BIGGEST comments I've made in this thread is to advise people to get a passport and think about relocating overseas, because the odds are very low anyone here would ever actually fight in a civil war.  Apparently you missed that as well.

I've said time and again I don't want civil war.  War is brutal and ugly.  But the democrats seem hell bent on starting one by labeling 40 million Americans as terrorists and warning that "white supremacy" is the biggest threat to try to give themselves agency to spur more division by going after political opponents.

The Soviet Union dissolved peacefully. The Czechs and the Slovaks split their country in two peacefully. Yugoslavia dissolving was a mess and a hot war. Nobody wants to see something like that.

We don’t need a civil war or a divorce. We are a republic. In a republic it is recognized that different parts of a large country are going to be different in many aspects.
