and things of that nature.

Recommended Posts

Does this also piss you off?

when someone names 2 things and ends it with "and things of that nature"

Has asspipe, if you can't think of anything else to add, please don't insult us by adding this stupid phrase.

I was at a Chinese restaurant and I ordered "Pork Fried Rice, Chicken Wings and things of that nature"

We really need to do something about the rain forest fires, so many things are dying "birds and bugs and things of that nature"

I am so tired of people adding extra words to sh1t.

Agreed.  I also can't stand "it is what it is".

The one that's bugging me lately, that's really taken hold in a big way, is the rhetorical "right?".  An expert or authority or person-trying-to-sound-smart will be giving you information, but at the end of most of their sentences, they add in a quick "right?" and then go right to the next sentence.

It'll be like:

"Why doesn't the US grow its own avocados?"

"Well, the climate in California is actually perfect for growing avocados, right?  But the land is so expensive, that it doesn't make economic sense to do it."

I dunno doosher, I'm the one who asked you:rolleyes:

Youre sure taking this language thing to the next level

when people add "situation" to everything now. George Carlin railed on this 20 years ago, it's far worse now. Everything is a focking situation :wall:

Nothing is worse than unnecessarily starting a sentence with so.

“What do you think of the geek club?”

“So, I’ve thought about that and...”

it makes me want to punch people and what not.

Have you lost your damned mind? That phrase is far better than “and so on and so forth”, “etcetera etcetera,” and the like.
