What's a good news source that's not partisan.

Recommended Posts

Cnn used to be my go to. During the first gulf war if cnn told me the sky was falling I would have believed them. Now. If they say it's dark outside I am checking just to make sure...and I'll be a racist for doing so according to them.

Fox,Wapo, nyt,MSNBC ,ny post, Yahoo , cnn.

None of these are legit sources of real news anymore.

Who you got?

None. You need to get your info from a variety of sources. Everything you listed above is a nonstarter. They are corrupt propaganda machines.

I do this now. I look for articles that are clearly written and do not include opinion or Twitter quotes.

I used to really like NPR but they have taken a hard left turn. It's hard for me to listen to them anymore.

I don't think it's about if they are non partisan or not. It depends if they are telling the truth or not. CNN and MSN lie constantly.

Ok. How about a news source that lets the story tell itself. I don't need a slant or an opinion. I need facts. I can form my own damn opinion given the correct facts.

It doesn't exist.

That's never existed.  People are just getting sophisticated enough to realize it.   The truth is, all we have EVER had is tribal warfare in media between different factions, each attempting to fake authenticity.  They attack each other or sometimes forge alliances to attack a bigger target together.  They prey on people who believe objectivity exists. All of it driven by power

I go to all of them..CNN, Fox News, Yahoo USA Today.  None are without bias.  But I try to read the articles for information, and shun opinion.  It's unfortunate that opinion is spun so deeply into some sites (like CNN) but I can usually spot them.

at 52, I don't need CNN or anyone else telling me how I should think or feel about any particular topic.  Just give me the info, and I will make up my own mind.

realclearpolitics.com gathers headlines that link to sources on both the left and right as well as all the polling info.

The left wing sources they link to are often times sites listed in the OP.

This is me. 9 years younger. This is what I do daily. But it seems like there should be a news aggregator that can filter out the biased stories. Or am I just wishing too much? Seriously. You mean to tell me we have AI that can figure out complex math problems but can't pick out the obvious bias and set up a news service around that?

Yeah it would be nice if you had a journalist that would discuss a topic, bring on both sides and then have that journalist almost be moderator to say "now the democrats will see it this way and the republicans will see it in this way" and then just leave it up to the freaking viewer to form their view.

I'm ok with the bias..It's just who people are.

I don't think that's too much to ask.

It turns me off to the writer immediately. Either side. If I can see the slant I'm not happy. I do not want your opinion and for fuckss sake I don't want that of Twitter.  If I wanted that I would seek out the opinion section. Don't mix the two.

Thing is I can usually spot it fast, and when I do, that's one less article I waste my time on.

Same here. It's just annoying to me. I find myself wincing when the radio lands on NPR. Breaking myself from NPR has been harder than any addiction I have ever had. I started at 16 and I want it to still be click and clack and prairie home companion and science Friday.  It's just not.

I don’t know.  It’s seem Ted Turner created this media circus when he turned news entertainment.

Who will determine which stories are biased? Is there any scenario in which everyone agrees on that person? And is there any scenario in which a side doesn’t accuse that aggregator of being extremely biased?

You. Nope. Folks have picked sides. For good reason now.

What if CNN tells us it's illegal to read some words and we should depend on them to read CNN to read and interpret them for us ?

I reject socialism and hatred for America. It’s easy to figure out who’s pushing those type of things. We are at a point in our history where you pick a side. Stop trying to act like we’re not.

I don't think that you can trust the media now to have no bias.  Look at a couple of different ones if you are looking at something that has an opinion to it.  I usually try to triangulate across a CNN, Fox, Reuters group.
