I'm not really worried about it, my bills are getting paid either way. I just think it's messed up guys like Bezos continue to line their pockets during the pandemic and small business owners are forced to shutdown when they sell similar if not the same items. And the icing on the cake was the PPP funds running out and many small business owners that actually had to shut down didn't even get a piece of it. What does the S&P have to do with that?

I honestly don't know why this is confusing.  The author intentionally picked a date which was the low of the market to lie with statistics.  Joe and Jane RetiredInOhio made > 20% in their diversified IRA over that same period.

Now if you want to say it is unfair to close up vuduchile's flooring emporium but allow Lowes and Home Depot to stay open and sell flooring, you get no argument from me.

I have no idea where the goalposts are in this discussion at this point.  :dunno:

I posted previously that we thought about moving out of index funds and into something safe in mid March.

We left it alone and things have been fine on that front.

This also speaks to Cdub’s advice to peenie about buying index funds and never selling.

Yes, as long as you don’t reside in a nursing home or personal care facility.

More attacks on Christians

Army chaplains' prayer videos during coronavirus removed from Facebook after complaints

https://www.foxnews.com/us/coronavirus-military-chaplain-facebook-video-removed

Weinstein told The Christian Post his group had "to make these obviously valid demands to ensure church-state separation...on behalf of aggrieved Army personnel who justly fear reprisal, retribution, revenge, and retaliation for taking their grievances up the chain of command."

Mike Berry, a lawyer for the First Liberty Institute, said he was shocked to find out the news and questioned why MRFF is focused on this issue.

"At a time when our nation is hurting and many feel hopeless, why on earth would Mikey Weinstein attack prayer?" Berry told Fox News. "America has the strongest military in history, but our brave service members are not immune to the havoc COVID-19 has wreaked."

Italy has been on lock down for a month, they still have new cases.  What the fock are we doing here???????

Quote

New cases of the novel coronavirus in Italy fell below the number of newly recovered patients for the first time since the outbreak began. Italy's civil protection agency reported 3,033 recoveries on Thursday, nearly 400 more than the number of new patients.

Active cases (those currently being treated in hospital or recovering at home) also dropped over four successive days since April 20, when the measure fell for the first time. Hospitalized patients and those in intensive care have both been decreasing since early April, according to Italian authorities.

New cases also saw a significant decline on Thursday, dropping to 2,646, which was 724 less than Wednesday which recorded 3,370 new cases. The country also reported that more than a million people have been tested for the virus and 18 percent of them have tested positive.
