Coronavirus - Doomsday

Ironic isn’t it? Mass hysteria and liberals worried about coronavirus. But thousands of unvaccinated illegals entering our country isn’t? 🤔

Just now, nobody said:

It's not about dying.  I don't think anyone here is concerned about dying.

It's about the prospect of your community shutting down for a month because there's an outbreak in your city and all the people who don't need to worry about dying can't stand around while 10% of the elderly and diabetic and smokers who get it die.  It's about the economic impact of countries shutting down.  That's lost production in some cases that's not coming back.  If people stop building sh¡t for 3 weeks, that's 3 weeks worth of raw materials that didn't get purchased and 3 weeks worth of goods and services that aren't being bought and sold.

That translates to economic slow down.  So yeah, it's probably a good idea we have a bit of urgency somewhere between panic and "it's all good" when it comes to trying to stave off the spread of this thing.

Thank the lil baby Jesus somebody gets it.

Really? Cause Newbtard apparently is worried about it

Also, there is NOT going to be businesses shut down, cities shut down, people losing jobs, etc. None of that’s gonna happen lol. Don’t try and even say it will cause it’s not. Literally, just wash your hands, cover your cough, and if your sick stay home. That’s it. Same as the flu. In fact, 32 million people have been sick with the flu so far this season. 18K dead from it. That’s just this season which is usually starting in sept/oct and runs usually through feb/mar. So roughly 5-7 months. This virus has been going on for how long now? 2 months? How many deaths from this? Roughly around 2800 with majority of those taking place in China were the citizens are poor, malnourished, and don’t have good healthcare.

My point? Coronavirus isn’t a big threat. Especially here. Little bit of advice? Don’t argue with me about diseases and their impacts. You will lose. Literally what I dealt with in the military and what I got my bachelors in.

Italy is up to a 2.5% mortality rate. Although this is almost certainly because it is in an area of the country that skews older and most likely a large number of undiagnosed cases. On the negative side is that fact that it takes a can take a long time for some people to pass away as per the link in some of my previous posts.

Most of the victims who have died were elderly, many over the age of 80. Some of them had underlying health conditions including cancer.”

oof. Swing and a miss 😂

I’ve been trying to tell you it’s not wise to try and argue with me on this. It’s LITERALLY what I went to school and got a bachelors in while also working in healthcare in the military dealing with stuff like this at Lackland.

Sorry I thought you were trying to say that as an insult/jab at me and didnt realize it actually said it was mostly the elderly in the article. My bad. I apologize 🙇🏻‍♂️

If 32 million people got infected by COVID-19, given the CDC numbers (which, sorry, I trust them more than you despite your degrees), that would mean 600k deaths, but feel free to cut that number in half.  Quarter it.  Doesn't matter.  The US will not let that happen.  Therefore, they will shut sh¡t down.  Switzerland had 1 case and banned gatherings over 1000 people.  Japan has already shut down some of their schools.  China needed to ban travel in and out of Wuhan just to contain it.  They will close stuff down here too.  It's too much of a political issue to not over-react.

By the way are the Japanese malnourished?  Or the South Koreans?  Or the Italians?

1.  People freaking out need to chill out

2.  If you have a parent over 70, or work for a global company or have a 401(k) then this is something worthy of taking seriously and keeping abreast of.

Literally from the article Skibum just posted. Elderly, malnourished, underlying medical problems, poor hygiene, etc all contribute to the deaths.

Bruh just give it up. You won’t win this one I’m telling. Best to do is chill out, drink a beer, and not worry about it here in the US. We are fine and we will be fine. Unless your pushing 60+ and plan on traveling to overseas anytime soon then you have nothing to worry about

I remember Army military training as worthless. It was all memorize and braindump and when you finished you were only slightly less clueless than when you went in.

And also, that’s army. They aren’t known for their smarts. That’s the AF. Which is what I was in. My training including EMT license and nursing training as well. Once I finished training and become permanent party I could take the state LPN exam and get my LPN license. They trained us really well. And since Lacklands hospital was a level 1 trauma center as well as a big training base I accumulated ALOT of experience there. Especially doing constant quarantine, mass casualty, and active shooter training that involves multiple departments

I’m heading downtown (massive trump rally in North Charleston tonight so I’m avoiding the outlets and the bars around there). Have a good rest of the night

My dad is 62 and has two of the main complication issues as published by WHO. He was my fishing buddy my whole life and is only a few years away from retiring, moving to texas, and getting a boat with me.

He is in excellent shape and ran two marathons last year.

This focking virus has me worried sick because he has heart disease, hypertension, and is above the age of 60.

We are both well off, I have a crap ton of vacation and he just 3 years away from being able to retire, now would be a crappy time for him to pass away.

Monitor him for any signs/symptoms. Main issue people are having is difficulty breathing. It sounds like he has pretty good lungs and in decent shape. He should be ok but I understand your worry. My dads 78 this year with Parkinson’s, seizures, pace maker, and goes into afib like 20% of the time. On top of that, he doesn’t really exercise or eat well. So yea I’m worried about him too but there’s not much you can do to stop the virus. Wash your hands, cover your cough/sneeze, and avoid sick people. Stay home if you’re sick. It won’t be too long before a cure is found. There’s actually a coronavirus 1. This is #2. Was reading a peer reviewed journal article from 2015 earlier today about it

It doesn't exist anymore it's been rolled into 92 or 96 something.

Anyway, it was 76C Equipment Records and Parts Specialist. I'd work in the motor pool since that's where >90% of the repairs take place but everybody that needed something repaired be it generators or radios or whatever needed fixing would order stuff through me.

There are 4 common coronavirus in the circulation, this will make #5.

Sars and Mers were also coronavirus, but they are not in circulation.

No, in this case heart disease is hereditary. My dad works out daily, eats healthy, is in great shape, but has heart problems. Sadly, I will probably have the same issue some day.

I work out, 37 years old, 6'1" 170, and already have borderline hypertension.

Fock that. I hear the motor pool focking sucks to work out. You guys had to go to formation before work right? And would usually be kept til 1900 or later. Especially if something was missing

Figured id post this before going. Good little read. Have fun bud 👍🏻

If that is the case then you should be a little worried for the same reason that I am worried. I have read many scientific articles about coronavirus's over the last month. I highlighted the main two sentences that stand out to me in the article you linked. They can be found in the Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention section if you want to verify.

Quotes below:

Only limited options are available to prevent coronavirus infections. Vaccines have only been approved for IBV, TGEV, and Canine CoV, but these vaccines are not always used because they are either not very effective, or in some cases have been reported to be involved in the selection of novel pathogenic CoVs via recombination of circulating strains.

Owing to the lack of effective therapeutics or vaccines, the best measures to control human coronaviruses remain a strong public health surveillance system coupled with rapid diagnostic testing and quarantine when necessary.
