They also have the highest cost of living. How much are the homes worth in a black neighborhood compared to a white neighborhood?

Probably proportional to the crime rates in the 2 neighborhoods.  :dunno:

That’s just one example out of many schools across the nation though. Funding wouldn’t be the only reason.

Baltimore City is 3rd in the nation for money spent per student. And nobody reading this would dare send your kids there.

There are going to be exceptions as well. Like I said before it’s not the only reason for education failures.

So you agree.  It’s not lack of money, lack of teachers, lack of schools, lack of air conditioning but rather lack of student/parent commitment.

agree?

In some places, yes, I agree. In other places it could be funding. There is more than one reason but I don’t know all of them.

I don’t think funding is a factor at all.  Lack of student/parent commitment is the issue.  Agree?

Last night, Obama urged mayors across the country to review use of force policies.  Hasn't been president in over three years and did more in a 10 minute Zoom address than Trump has done in over a week to settle down these protests.

I thought he was going to take care of the riots and lootings too. What happened there?

I believe he would if he were to give a nationally televised speech.  I doubt he would do that and step on Trump's toes. Did anyone even know he was going to make a comment on Zoom? I didn't.

Been about a week-and-a-half since he died...  Is it time to move on to something else?  Just want to make sure where my outrage needs to go to...

Has anyone seen this?  Going to check the MSM sites...

https://nypost.com/2020/06/04/nypd-cops-shot-in-confrontation-with-suspect-in-brooklyn/

Two police officers were shot and a third was stabbed in a confrontation with a suspect in Brooklyn late Wednesday, police and sources said.

The melee unfolded when a suspect approached a cop on Church Avenue near Flatbush Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. and stabbed him in the neck, a police source said.

Several cops responded and one pulled his firearm, the sources said.

The officer and the suspect struggled for the weapon, which went off, striking one officer in the hand and another in the arm.

A sergeant responded and fired on the suspect, who was struck.

The police officers were rushed to Kings County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. He was listed in critical condition.

“It appears to be a complete cowardly, despicable, unprovoked attack on a defenseless police officer,” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said at a press conference following the shooting.

“I think we are all fed up with, what we’re saying is this violence has to stop.”

Flatbush resident Jean Jones said he was driving down East 21st Street near Church Avenue when he watched the shooting unfold.

Jones said he saw at least two officers jump out of their cars and start shooting.

“I saw them shooting and then two of those officers started hiding behind their vehicle, like they were trying to avoid being shot,” Jones told The Post.

“I just heard gunshots, at least 16 if I was being conservative,” he said.

“It’s a lot. I was just thinking about police officers. It’s unfortunate that things kind of escalate,” he said.

The shooting comes amid citywide protests against police brutality in the wake of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis police custody.

Protesters marched in Brooklyn Wednesday night, but not near where the officers were shot.

hard to say. We do not have access to the top strategic democratic meetings where instead of discussing policies and how to make America better, they are discussing the upcoming fake outrages they have planned. That's where their time is spent since the only thing that is for sure is that they will fail at everything they come up with.

I believe schools get a lot of their money from property taxes. If the housing in the area is crappy then there won’t be very much money coming in from taxes. Just one theory.

And huge state subsidies

They've seen too many Freddie Gray and Eric garner verdicts. Cell phones have changed everything and the legal system can no longer make up lies to justify these killings. Once they adapt, things will settle down.

I thought things were going to settle down once the brutal cops charges were increased and the other three cops were arrested?

Think about that... they actually try to somehow justify it.

Ya have to have a really deformed brain to think there is any excuse for any of this.

That's not fair. I'm sure many parents during this time in isolation realized that it's really hard teaching children. Sometimes a parent isn't able to tutor a child especially after a hard day of work. I don't know of any parent that doesn't want their child to do well in school. What if you are a parent who didn't do well in school, perhaps unqualified to help your child, but nonetheless you want your child to do well. Is it so absurd to expect a school to teach the child??

I was able to help my child but some parents were not able. Don't condemn them to simply not caring. The schools in the inner poor cities do not compare to those in affluent suburbs. They have so many options when a child is failing that are not available in the poor sections.

No, people are upset because the police officer took the life of a human being. How long and hard did people have to look to find a justification for his death? How do you even know the story is true?

Yeah, and?  What does that have to do with being murdered in broad daylight by a cop?

pretty sure its a matter of public record.

I'm upset/frustrated with the actions of the officer as well but I don't have the need to riot or loot

And the officer was charged.  The legal system is working as it was designed/intended to work.  Why the rioting and looting?  Does it only applies if a police officer takes the life of another human being?

The taxes all go into the same pot and then are distributed throughout the city. Do you know who is in charge of that? It’s not Republicans. We don’t have any.

Is it all pooled together for the entire city or is it split into districts?

This isn't justifying his death. This is the factual unjustifying of the awful tragic disgusting violent despicable inexcusable coodiinated reaction.

A reaction that has nothing to do with his death.... not one of you give a fock about him.. you FAKE care more about him than you real care about DAVID DORN an African American former police captain who was trying to do good and gunned down by your movement, or any of the black children killed by fellow blacks every day in this country.

Disgusting
