We were right and must continue the fight.  I tried to read this article on the 32 things learned from week 1 in the NFL.  I NEVER MADE IT PAST #1

The 32 things we learned from Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season:

1. Black Lives Matter. End Racism. It Takes All Of Us. Still trying to understand how any of that stirs controversy ...

1a. Speaking of which, how about Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich taking a knee during the national anthem? Talk about being an advocate for equality.

1b. And, it should be noted, I'd expect Reich – and anyone else who knelt this weekend, including Ravens QB Lamar Jackson – to be gainfully employed in the NFL in 2021 and well beyond.

1c. But, as expected, teams and players approached pre-game ceremonies – they included "Lift Every Voice and Sing," aka the Black national anthem, and the traditional "The Star-Spangled Banner" in Week 1 – in various ways. Some clubs locked arms, while no players at all were present for the anthems elsewhere. None of it really came as a surprise, the Miami Dolphins – they chose not to be on the field for the songs – signalling during the week that they want action, not more words.

Played baseball as I always try to do on Sunday, but it was early so I caught the last 3 quarters of the skins. Kudos to The Football Team for putting Washington in the endzone to acknowledge one the biggest black killing fields. I hope the Bears do the same.

I went to an eight year olds birthday party yesterday. . Watched Life,  Liberty and Levin at 8 O’clock. Candace Owens was on. Didn’t see a down of the Cowboys game. Followed my fantasy team on my phone. I’ll be watching Tucker tonight at 8. Will glance at the Giants game, but it should be over by halftime.

Watched most of the 2nd half Saints but won't be watching next week. I was doing some re-organizing in my office and I have a TV in there. If not for that I would have been outside. Just not the same anymore since my auction league was cancelled. I liked managing the team, digging for intel on matchups. Just watching is boring as hell.

I'm guessing after the debacle on Thursday a memo was sent out to announcers and the like to 'tone the fock down, this is blowing up in our faces, we are taking on water fast.'

If you turned on after the kickoff and only watched the game and no halftime, you never heard any of their diarrhea.

BTW, anyone watch any halftime shows? Did they pimp their BS?

I watched the second half of the cowboys game last night.  Bet on some games but didn’t need to watch in order to do what I needed.

I watched red zone off an on when I wasn’t working.  Completely missed Mill’s no hitter because of it.  Caught the Cowboys/Rams game from the 2nd quarter on.

Heading home from the lake yesterday, we stopped at a friend's bar that is usually packed  for Vikings games.  It was the middle of the 2nd quarter and they only had 2 people in there watching the game.    This bulllshit is going to hurt bars badly.  The owner just shook his head and said he can't blame his customers for not wanting to come in and watch the NFL.

If I had a time machine I would go back in time to around 2003-2004 when Ty Law bullied Marvin Harrison to the point of the NFL feeling the need to change the DB/WR rules at the line of scrimmage. I would stop watching then, rather than waiting almost 20 years.

Stopped watching the NFL years ago, maybe a couple of plays here and there in the past during the day, but yesterday watched hockey and baseball and did some things around the house...

Doesn't MN have a mask mandate though?  I know a lot of people won't go places because they refuse to wear a mask.  I know plenty of people are boycotting games because of BLM but that seems like a high percentage at that bar.

I did read that and it's why I said that seems like a high percentage of people not going just for that one reason.  I didn't say it couldn't be true.

That's not a final number though.  It doesn't even have the west coast factored in and it doesn't have the digital platform factored in.

The article even mentions how the Thursday night numbers were higher once the digital platforms were factored in.

Up against NBA and NHL playoffs, Thursday’s Chiefs-Texans game jumped up to an audience of 19.3 million on NBC in adjusted numbers, a figure that grew to 20.3 million when near-record digital platform viewership was factored in.
