Restrepo.  And it's not even close. I highly recommend it.

I think I’ve told this before, but concerning the 75, I worked with Michael Dowds brother. He was in narcotics and about to get promoted to detective when the whole thing with his brother broke. He got bounced to the Bronx. Real good guy, hated his brother. Fun fact about the Dowd boys: They are all hung like a horse. Their other freak brother was a fireman and used to hang schlong out the back of the fire truck while riding around Manhattan. Pretty sure he got canned for it or something similar.  The one who worked with me used to show off in the locker room. One of the black girls we worked with heard about it and begged him to show her when we were out one night. She was in shock. #metoo

I saw him do an interview with Anthony Cumia on Compound Media a while back. He actually seemed like a decent guy. But he was one of those who give cops a bad name. Rooned it for most of yas.

Don't remember you telling this story.

Thanks for sharing.

Guys like that only get one or two fools to go along with them. They never last. Systematic corruption in the NYPD is virtually impossible. Too many eyes, too much turnover.  Pockets of it, sure.  But it never lasts.  Because the good cops make sure it doesn’t, but not in an overt way. Word gets out, and people who need to know are informed.. Surest way to tell who’s dirty is if the union rep won’t deal with them and if no one will work with them.  It’s only a matter of time before they go down once that happens. The police department is like high school with guns. Secrets don’t stay secret very long. Much more corruption in mid-size ghetto departments.  The most corrupt departments I know of are right to the north of NYC, Yonkers and Mount Vernon. No one is paying attention to them when the big fish in the NYPD are right down the road.

Worst ever was The Central Park 5 by Ken Burns and his daughter. Complete bullshit. Of course race baiters ate it up.

 Dammit :wall:

In fairness to the Hardcore one, (I'm gonna assume he was / is a Knicks fan) at least Starks had one of the best dunks I've ever seen against Da Bulls.

Dogtown and ZBoys.

Riding Giants.

The 2 best docs about the beginnings of the skateboard and big wave surfing cultures. Like most great docs they are watchable even if you have no interest in the subject matter.

Not for learning something but for the scenery.  Shakleton's Adventure was an IMAX film about that group trapped in the Antarctic back in the day.

It was a really good one about the first African American law enforcement officer in the Wild West.

Basically, he was given an impossible assignment. A lot of very powerful people wanted a railroad to go through this particular town called Rock Ridge. So they made him Sheriff to get everybody to move.

Somehow, with only the help of alcoholic deputy and the townspeople he fought off an entire Army of rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, -kickers ...oh yeah, and um, Methodists.

Pretty solid. I think Ken Burns did that one too.

Honest Man: Life of R Bud Dwyer.  It's on Prime.

This is the dude that blew his head off on live TV.  I always assumed he was a piece of shite, but the doc gives a different look.

Also they show the full suicide so if you're squeemish, look away during that part.

There was a pretty brutal one about the fact that most Jews who died in the camps actually died of massive, widespread Dysentery.

I think it was called

The Diarrhea of Anne Frank. .

History of the Eagles

This is a great one.  So is Ed's Koresh one.  I don't tend to respond in these types of threads because there are so many choices that are valid.  Hard to pick just one and say it's the "best."  I would add Runnin' down a dream, since I'm  a huge Tom Petty fan, and one I posted about on here that was a PBS documentary about an intelligent design trial.
