16 times and counting.  17 is on Monday.  Each one takes 1.5 hours for me to drive up and back.  Last week I was tested Monday for my planned Wednesday procedure, then Tuesday evening to be admitted with the vertigo.  That one was interesting because they swabbed my nose, which all of the nurses know is useless (with my laryngectomy they need to swab my stoma).  When I mentioned it to the nurse she said “I know, and I said as much to my supervisor, but she said to do the nasal swab because that is our procedure here in the hospital.”  She rolled her eyes while saying it.  Science!

Remarkably they didn’t make me do one Wednesday or Thursday for my Friday procedure.  Either they forgot or they thought Tuesday evening was recent enough.  My money is on forgot/slipped through the cracks.

Mostly the testing is for when they plan to go/look inside me, like the bronchoscopy or next week’s ENT visit where they’ll scope my esophagus to make sure it is healing.  Things like radiation treatments or regular office visits they are more lenient.

If I’m in rough shape, from a medical perspective they should encourage me all the more to cover my stoma,   Also I don’t believe that Mayo is in a conspiracy with the government; I believe that a bunch of Karens have developed and been emboldened by the disinformation being spread by the government.

ive stopped wearing a mask as of today. went to 2 stores. one said sir do you have mask? i said no cant for medical reasons. no problem. other store didnt say a word. i had covid. was like a mild flu for me. could give a fock less if i get again. all older people in my life are vaccinated...as every older person should be at this point. this mask crap is absolute bs. pointless. fock off!!!!
