Damn Europe Is Taking it in the Shorts

Recommended Posts

All time record highs for natural gas, dwindling supplies of natural gas, record LNG prices and they are running out of coal just in time for winter.  Who would have guessed the wind doesn't always blow?

And the hits keep on coming.

As energy prices soared, inflation in the eurozone accelerated in September to the highest level since 2008, data from the European Union’s statistical office Eurostat showed on Friday.

And all this disproportionately hurts the poor and helps the rich.

They waste all their money on infrastructure and social bennies and no military defense, meanwhile Russia is massing a huge army.  Russia is just waiting for Europe to go utterly dysfunctional then they can roll their tanks all the way to Paris.  Its how it happens all throughout history.  The foolish get erased.

Effectively, Europe died when Hitler toppled France.  At that point, it was a colony of Germany.  The end of WW2 was that Europe was still a colony, only now it was mostly a colony of the US, with some parts a colony of the USSR.  Europe has no will to live.  If the US grows weak, it just means Russia moves in and now Europe is a colony of Russia.

Sure,  The rub being that they can afford it.

The real damage is done to the least fortunate among us.

What’s the benefit of a steel roof?  Is that like a hot tin roof?

The benefit would be that you'd never have to worry about it again.

Gotcha, thanks.  I would never consider it in Phoenix because of the heat.

Listening to a podcast today, the guest said car companies aren't switching to electric because of virtue signaling. It's because we will see a big time shortage in oil.

“By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate…that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, `Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, `I am very sorry, there isn’t any.’”

I think there may be some confusion on who the good guys and who the bad guys are.

people who try to scare you that the environment is doomed in 20 years for 100 years and keep getting it wrong are not the good guys.

There is one HUUUUUUUGE tell that exposes who the good guys are.  The good guys want to give you a gun.  There is no greater nightmare to a dictator than an armed public.  Hitler took away guns.  Lenin and Stalin took away guns.  The left takes away guns.  So you KNOW they are definitively the had guys.  Putin wants everyone to have a gun.  He wants an armed public.  He is a good guy.  Stop listening to all the lies and lies and lies and disinformation.  Focus on the tell.  Hes no dictator.

I heard that one before. I remember my teachers saying all the oil would be gone before the year 2000.

Also we wouldn't be alking around with calculators in our pockets all the time.

I was actually at that game. Game wasn’t sold out, so I couldn’t watch on TV… so I went with my Dad and bought a ticket on game day… figured even though they would probably lose, at least I get to see a playoff game.

Thinking back, I remember my dad asked if I wanted to leave at halftime (down 28-3) . Since I could barely afford the ticket, I was like “hell no I will suffer through the entire game in the cold.” Then to start the 2nd half, Frank Reich throws a pick-6 and I get to watch the Oilers defender run into the end zone where our seats were and celebrate…. But things turned around soon thereafter.

Only negative was we had end zone seats and most of the Buffalo scoring happened at the other end of the field (big 3rd quarter for Buffalo was all going the other way, as was the Overtime FG).

Steel roof?  what about rust?  Rust LOVES steel.

so now instead of replacing a tile roof every 30 years, I'll be replacing a steel roof at 3 or 4 times the cost, what?  Every 15 years?

Steel roofs are a gimmick.   Sorry, pal, but Mother Nature is undefeated.

I heard the same thing. Why else are car companies switching to all electric? Give me a good reason.

We are not running out of oil. Im not suggesting that.

I can think of two reasons.

1. political mandates

2. electric is "cool"

I have nothing against electric cars. They will work for 99% of people not taking long-distance trips.

Government mandates, subsidies and incentives.

Government and social pressure from the left.

I thought we were running out of rare Earth metals to even manufacture electric cars on a massive scale?  Isn't that why California is banning high end computers?  How are they supposed to make all these cars? I need to start a buggy whip store because people are going to be on horseback soon.

They are not switching to all electric cars.  They are throwing out dates 15-20 years in the future to appease the enviro children.  When the electric car market doesn't take off they will igonre the comment.
