So now its left to the states, which will vary in their allowance.  Further focusing ideological population centers. More division.

I was never a big states rights guy until I saw what happened in NY. NY used to operate as almost two different states. NYC in most instances did what they wanted and upstate did their thing. It was great arrangement. Then Cuomo came in and took all the dumb from NYC and spread it to the whole state. We were all happier in our own tribes. I see that as a microcosm of the country. Let the reds do their thing and the blues do theirs. The swing states will swing.  It San Francisco and Manhattan need to leave other places alone. More power to the states the better.

Stellantis Celebrates Launch of First New Assembly Plant in Detroit in 30 Years! - MoparInsiders - construction complete in 2021, but note the plan was initiated two years earlier.

You've no idea what the string of news had been, always closures, closures, more closures with our corporate globalist uniparty presidents, never openings until President Trump.

I’m not citing the news. I’m saying according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics auto manufacturing in Michigan didn’t grow under Trump. Ironically you’re telling me the news is biased while citing one off news stories.

When it comes to jobs and trade, Trump was Jeb! with a populist spin and a Twitter handle. He also spent 4 years attacking organized labor. That’s why the Rust Belt rejected him in 2020. That act only works once.

Yes I did. And worms, despite all his bluster towards me showed he was a stand up guy, once again. But I did not take the money, I suggested it be donated to charity and Worms did that.  He never had a chance and I wouldn’t feel right taking it. I might make an exception for Mooney though.

Simple jack. You think that’s all I provided.Hush little boy. Some kid might come to you and you can say they don’t have to worry about using birth control if it’s kinda inconvenient to get it. Tell them They can always get an abortion.

Well, if we’re ranking it, Worms is at the top, and you and I are below. But you lose on volume. So: Worms, HT, MDC.

Irony is lost on him. Also, I'm on my lunch and have posted between classes today. It's been an unusually slow day- which makes sense with standardized testing going on in the school upcoming.

Typical liberals blaming others for what they do themselves. HT once put out a bunch of MDC posts on xmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Mother's day etc.., so now mdcack has to say it to others constantly.

Just like you after having been busted about your not being a teacher you have to say the same thing back to someone else.

You guys really get your feelers hurt so easily. And you have no imagination.

You are a terrible teacher who does the bare minimum while working. It looks like you value this board more than your students.

HT is a driver. Last year he drove from upstate NY to Philly to take some kids to a basketball game. He waited in the parking lot til the game was over, drove them home snd went back to upstate NY. Only 12-14 hours of work and he made $400 cash money baby!

Dude is making bank. :bandana:

Some local politician organized a protest yesterday at a major intersection on my commute home from work. Looked like it was attended by many students from the local high school, and assorted other weirdos. One dooshy hipster looking guy was wearing a shirt that read "FEMINIST".

My commute was extended by 15 minutes because of these losers.

So, after 13 pages, can someone summarize the progress that has been made in understanding each other's position and adjusting our own?  Thanks.

That’s the side gig. I have to drive some swells  to New Haven next week for some function at Yale. Easy money ! The great thing about working on a Saturday isn’t so much the money you make, but the money you don’t spend. I’ll have to miss a T ball game though, the only one I will. Hopefully it gets rained out.

12-14 hours? It’s a 5, maybe 6 hour drive round trip. The game is maybe 3? Keep trying fool.  But I won’t be taking any Philadelphia gigs anymore. Too much of a shithole.

The board should start with their understanding of what Roe v Wade actually did to/for the abortion industry.

Yeah. Liberals are still violent assh0les.

LA abortion protest turns violent: Protesters lob 'rocks and bottles' at cops, smash cruiser's window

At least one officer is injured.

Violence broke out in Los Angeles Tuesday night as abortion rights protesters lobbed "rocks and bottles" at Los Angeles police officers and appeared to smash a Department of Homeland Security cruiser’s window, sparking a citywide tactical alert.

That's personally my take. I'm not sure how widespread it is. Abortion isn't my issue and I'm more upset about what this means for Dem motivation in November than for the dead babies.   Oh well, watching screaming, crying leftoids have their favorite toy broken is always fun I suppose. If this is the first step on the road back to federalism, I'll be thrilled and I do feel relief seeing the new and improved SCOTUS take action that pisses off the left. I'll feel better if/when Affirmative Action gets sh*tcanned.

Meh, I'm not there with you on that.   Leaking a case opinion while it's being reviewed is a "never in history" moment.    I agree that bringing abortion back to the forefront of our collective debate probably helps the dems as they can go back to the tired "war on women" trope.    But for a lot of people, like me, this latest "the ends justify the means" moment is a defining example of the the hypocrisy, overly-emotional, and general malaise of our political world.   That is assuming that the likely scenario that it was some activist, doosh, lefty clerk who leaked this turns out to be the case.    I can only hope that whomever leaked this gets at least the same treatment as the Viking-horns Jan 6th guy. . .

The decision that makes it okay to ban abortion won’t actually have any effect on abortion.

Doesn’t make any sense to me either but that’s the collective wisdom of the GC

Yeah but liberals get to throw rocks and bottles at cops again now. So that's good I guess.

This is a good take.   So many want to boil it down to just "it's a life" vs "my body, my choice", but abortion is multi-faceted.   The role of gov't in this, the constitution, and the SC is almost a separate debate from the "it's a life" vs "my body, my choice" debate.

To me the tell on the abortion debate is that if you are pro-choice but are unwilling to acknowledge the moral and ethical quandaries of the subject - you are not a serious person and your opinion is meaningless.    The flip side is true as well, if you are pro-life but are unwilling to acknowledge the challenges, trauma, and personal liberty/agency aspects of the debate, then you are not. . .

Which all ends on a middle ground of... I'm willing to make abortion a right, but it has to be at a certain time.  Call it 10 weeks (25% the norm), and the person - not the government, foots the bill.

  • The government does not pay for anyone's rights, this would be another one like that.
  • The government does set limits on rights, such as voting... you have to be 18 (for example), this would be another.

Still legal.  The only gaslighting is the media spreading nonsense that abortion is or will be illegal.   What Roe v Wade decided was that states could not ban abortion. IF it is stricken down, and I don't think it will be, then they are putting it back in states hands, meaning the federal government has no opinion on it (meaning abortion is legal in the eyes of the federal government).  So ultimately Roe v. Wade actually helped the abortion fight even if it is struck down.

Shhhh.... the left doesn't like logic.
