Super secret Chinese surveillance aircraft over Montana

CNN: Pentagon tracking suspected Chinese spy balloon over the US.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/02/politics/us-tracking-china-spy-balloon/index.html

Okay so any of you guys who have you know rifles and whatnot, if you happen to see a big Chinese balloon, probably has a dragon on it or some s***. Feel free to blast it out of the sky.

You just know there's a bunch of rednecks in Montana just blasting their guns into the sky like the British during a Nazi air raid. 😁

1 red balloon
Floating in the summer sky
Panic bells, it's red alert
There's something here from somewhere else
The war machine springs to life
Opens up one eager eye
Focusing it on the sky
The 1 red balloon goes by

Biden Says He’ll Shoot Down Chinese Spy Balloon As Soon As He’s Done Letting It Spy

https://babylonbee.com/news/biden-says-hell-shoot-down-chinese-spy-balloon-as-soon-as-hes-done-letting-it-spy

U.S. — Americans are up in arms after a Chinese high-altitude spy balloon was seen hovering over sensitive nuclear sites in Montana. Biden was quick to quell fears, vowing to shoot down the hostile balloon as soon as he's done letting it spy.

"Listen folks, that balloon came a long way to do a little spyin'," said Biden in a meeting with military leaders. "Would be a shame to shoot the poor thing down before it even gets a chance to take some pictures! I remember when me and the boys used to spy on Suzie Anne McGillicutty through her bedroom window after a long day of protesting the civil rights movement. It's all in good fun, folks!"

According to anonymous sources, several Pentagon officials asked how soon they would be able to knock the balloon out of the sky, insisting it was a matter of national security.

"Come on, man! I'll let you shoot it down. Just let me check to make sure the Chinese have what they need and that the million-dollar check for Hunter's painting came through from my buddy Xi. Then, have at it, boys!"

At publishing time, Eric Swalwell had been seen approaching the spy balloon and asking for its number.

One Chinese spy to the other: "Should we nuke this area?" "No, no one would even know we did'.

How does it get passed the Air Force into the country? You'd think it'd be given a warning, then dropped into the ocean once it entered US territorial waters. Now it's three states in.

C'mon man!!!  Biden is too busy securing the southern border to keep an eye on other parts of the country.

What could that balloon possibly see that ya can't already see on Google Earth?

If it flew over protected air-space, they'd just blow it out of the sky.?.  I don't get it.

Seriously WTF?

With that very likely means is we sent up an EA 6B prowler and fried the s*** out of anything electrical on that balloon.  Rendering it about as dangerous as a Macy's parade float.

Stupid move on china's part.

Reminds me. General consensus is that we were never attacked on American soil during world war ii. But the Japanese would send over balloons filled with gasoline bombs released them into the jet stream and have them land, explode whatever on the western coast.

Three states in?  I'm in Missouri.  Kind of smack dab right in the middle of the country, not far from Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha...

I saw a weird ass plane flying around St. Joe a lot yesterday, and I thought to myself "wtf is that?".  It was hovering around the city a ton.  Our guard air force unit  locally has a fleet of C-130s which I wouldn't see as a huge target for intelligance, but I guess what they can deploy overseas would be of interest to someone like China.  Not far down the road is Whiteman Air Force Base and the B-2 Stealth Bombers.

The fact they are just letting this thing float around and check things out is interesting.  Of course I have no idea what kind of James Bond counter surveillance measures we are capable of either.

This is US surveillance, not China.  The attribution of this to China is to keep up US surveillance by us for our own defense.  Keep this in mind when you listen and think about all the talk from the Pentagon.

Well, when they finally pop the balloon, I hope they reveal what the fortune is inside and our lucky numbers.

It's funny seeing all the people on social media saying how they would shoot it down if it was in their state.  😂  Bunch of morons.

If it is a "super secret" Chinese surveillance aircraft, how come people on the ground can see it?

I didn't realize it was in Missouri.... Montana is three states in from Washington/Oregon and Idaho.

Montana is full of vigilant patriots.

"Full" and "Montana" are opposite concepts. You could say that amongst the small pockets of people inside the vast emptiness of Montana reside a greater percentage rate of patriots than elsewhere in the country.

It's a wayward surveillance balloon, and the Chinese admitted as much and apologized. The Chinese also have these crazy things called satellites, which are far more effective at spying on stuff than this weather balloon. The balloon is the size of three buses, and it hasn't passed over anything that would result in an acceptable risk in shooting it down.

I say just let the thing float around forever.

Quote

Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said on Friday that the Chinese balloon is estimated to be operating at about 60,000 feet, "well above the range of civilian air traffic or where civilian air traffic would normally fly." That puts it in range of some systems, but there are other challenges. And it is still a potential stretch for many fighter aircraft.

The US Air Force's top air superiority fighter, the fifth-generation F-22 Raptor, which the US military scrambled in response to the Chinese balloon, has a maximum operating altitude of over 50,000 feet, according to the Air Force. That could be pushed higher though, even if it's less than ideal.
