This is what I was wondering.  You can't legislate every contingency, and in the case of possession of weapons it is reasonable to extend school grounds to the area around bus stops.  Reasonable enough to take this guy in and get him the fock out of there, IMO.

Actually here in Colorado it has gotten better.  There was a real trend of doing this and filming this maybe a decade ago.  Since then thery have moved on to other activities and this has noticeably abated.  it could reignite, I suppose, and that would not surprise me.

I don't agree with someone having a firearm in public near a school bus stop like as per the OP, but to take it the direction you are going is not being realistic to the true context of actual current gun ownership trends.

The situation in the OP is not acceptable. The majority, probably nearly all of the Pro-2A movement, would denounce something like that. That person is not representative of the nearly all law abiding firearm owners here in America. 

That being said, the question arises when it will end up being Black Americans, particularly women, who might end up in "open carry" situations. 

Be interesting to see how the activist hard left leaning MSM covers it, or refuses to cover it, then.

Here's another factor in the overall "gun debate"

Americans, particularly women and minorities, are buying firearms at record rates. When you don't own a firearm, the idea of more stringent up to extremely punitive "gun laws" is not typically a major factor to that person. That person can't miss or be enraged about what they never lost. 

However ANY EXISTING GUN OWNER will suddenly become very attuned to the idea of someone coming to try to take their guns from them. 

It's the exact same with children. Parents with kids have to pay attention to the quality of the public schools around them. Many single childless people simply aren't invested, as they aren't interacting in the day to day with schools, other parents, teachers, school adminstrators, being forced to deal with real life child/parent based conflicts, etc, etc. 

The number of EXISTING GUN OWNERS is growing, exponentially so, in America right now. 

This one idiot at a bus stop won't change that. But yes, I don't want someone like that owning a firearm. However, I also recognize that person actually has real Constitutional rights that just can't be trampled upon because the radical left needs a new narrative.

I don't have an issue with it...  Is it stupid?  Sure is...  Is he breaking any laws by just standing there with a gun out?  Who knows for sure, but if he isn't confronting anyone and just standing there with the gun out and not breaking laws, he has every right to do it...  However, it is a very stupid thing to do...
