supermike80 1,865 Posted January 12, 2024 I'm not. Kinda miffed they would do this, but I'm also not surprised. I hope the ratings blow. Would be fun to watch this game, because of the conditions, but alas, not paying for it.

BeachGuy23 642 Posted January 12, 2024 There are people who don't have Peacock? It comes with cable and it's super cheap for what you get if you don't get it free.
WhiteWonder 2,707 Posted January 12, 2024 it's cheap and shareable. My father gave me his login months ago. I think he pays $3/mo through comcast for it.
thegeneral 3,067 Posted January 12, 2024 I have it from cable but is debatable if I’d pay for Peacock. They have some decent content - Dan Patrick Show, a couple shows they have done that are good. They had a basketball game I wanted to watch the other day which was new and now this game.

BiffTannen 907 Posted January 12, 2024 Peacock is free with a one year paid subscription to Golf Pass - $100. With Golf Pass you get a $10 coupon each month off a round of golf so I get paid to have Peacock. 1

Ron_Artest 1,228 Posted January 12, 2024 I already have it, they have some pretty good content and it's only $5.99 per month which is practically nothing. Skip starbucks for a day.
listen2me 23 1,840 Posted January 12, 2024 I actually just paid for a month because my parents are without NBC on Direct TV and had no way of watching last Bills game other than me setting something up as they know nothing about streaming. Got it for them, I just stream games I don't have access to for free. I don't watch much TV at all. Other than sports, many of these primes and peacocks are basically obsolete to me. If the argument is that people shouldn't pay to watch commercials, that is exactly what cable TV has done for decades. AND all of these streaming services will have 2 tiers very soon. You see it with Peacock and Max recently added a cheaper sub with commercials. Amazon is adding commercials with a $3mo opt out. Hulu has ad based subs. They're all doing it. It's a dumb argument. listen2me 23 1,840 Posted January 12, 2024 I have 2 TVs going on certain occasions. But a big problem with every sport being on different platforms is the go back button. If you want to flip over to another game or sport you are interested in its a hassle. Exit one thing. Go click on another thing. May take 3 seconds to load. Find other game. Click on it all to find its at commercial.

Horseman 2,433 Posted January 13, 2024 4 hours ago, Ron_Artest said: If the argument is that people shouldn't pay to watch commercials, that is exactly what cable TV has done for decades. That's true. In the beginning though it was for a bunch of extra cable only channels in addition to the VHF and UHF frequencies. You paid the premium for for all the extra channels. OTA TV was slow to catch up so pretty soon for the vast majority of people cable or dish were your only options. The cable companies became a monopoly of an industry and past time that the majority of the population used everyday. And they used to be able to enjoy it for free, paid for solely by the commercials. Now you're paying twice (subscription and commercials) and sometimes a third time (hidden fees). The secret they want to keep you from learning is that once the signals became digitized, and internet speed surpassed video size, cable technology is obsolete. Now it's our turn. We're going to watch TV for free again and this time without commercials (besides live).
Engorgeous George 2,237 Posted January 13, 2024 I can live without the game live. The NFL has been trying to trade me in for new customers for some time. Sadly they do not realize that the customers they are courting have no loyalty to their product. Swifties will all fade away upon a breakup or a retirement. Super Bowl halftime shows do not attract new fans to the game, just to the show while they alienate loyal fans. I don't give a damn what the league thinks about social justice issues and don't want to hear it one way or another. I have been the target demographic but am no more. too bad for the NFL as their new target demographic will not support them and I still have discretionary money, lots an lots of it. Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered.
