Moon good answer so is Fouts and I already deemed Marino #1.

I’m partial to Jim Kelly and Fran Tarkenton

How can it not be Jim Kelly? Knocking on the door 4 times in a row

It’s definitely Kelly.

Marino was an a-hole who made no one better and teammates hated him

But if Marino played in today's NFL he'd throw for 5,000 yards with his eyes closed.

Archie Manning - Good QB on a bad team for years.

Good one. He always reminded me of Pistol Pete. Two great incredible players on bad teams.

I agree.  But, if you don’t elevate the play of teammates and they don’t want to play with you?  Probably still not getting a ring.

Marino’s physical talent is unquestionable.  I actually peg him as an underachiever.  Just 1 SB appearance with all that ability.

However, he was also victim of some dubious team-building.  Still, a guy like Elway (my personal GOAT) virtually willed lesser teams to the SB.

Josh Allen

Kelly > Allen

Until he actually makes a super bowl. Hard to include him.

Even the most overrated QB of all time, Marino made a SB

I just remember him running 20 yards backwards for his life but when he did have rare time he looked good. He got his revenge through his kids,

This ^ right here.

He made the SB his first full year as starter, then never returned - that's 15 consecutive seasons of missing.

8-10 career in the playoffs, 77 passer rating ... 32 TDs, 24 INTs, 5 fumbles lost (29 turnovers), multiple turnovers in 11 of the 18 games.

Cannon arm, insane release; but a fockin' PEA brain ... dude was dumb - like, STOOOOPIT dumb - and had that lantern jawed fool Shula hanging off his nuts, so Danny Boy was placated like the little b1tch he really was.

btw, the AFC was a joke during this era, losing 12 straight Super Bowls ... hell, if it wasn't for Al Davis/Flores/Plunkett being the only AFC team to win between '82-'97, it woulda been 15 straight - so not anywhere near the NFC juggernauts of SFO, NYG, Redskins, Da Bearz, etc

Elway clears WAY more, career wise, than Marino, because he at least had the all around game and chops to actually get there - sure he got embarrassed until Shanny & Terrell Davis showed up, but Elway dragged dogsh1t teams on his back prior to that

Marino is/was/always shall be a hatful of hollow stats ... talented, sure - but a grade-A assclown & a focking loser.

Just gimme that Elway dirty talk all day.  Dude’s #1 in my book.
