I think you're just underestimating Bad Bunny's reach. He is #12 on the list of most-streamed artists on Spotify since 3/1/2023. Take a look at the below list and tell me who wouldn't have pissed off MAGA? It's either artists they don't like, or artists that don't like their politics. And several ahead of Bad Bunny have already played SB halftime. Holy crap that list is depressing

That said, I still know who he is and I assume some people in this thread acting like "who?" are full of shit. I know enough to know he is very popular. Obviously not among the 55-70 year olds at FFT but are we surprised? The NFL continues to do woke. Kendrick Lamar, Usher, Rihanna, Dre/Snoop/Mary J/Eminem/Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Shakira/J-lo... gotta go back to 2019 to find a white halftime performer. So Kendrick did it twice, sort of, in a 4 year span... so that shouldn't be an issue. And I don't care the race of the performer. Love Shakira, like Rihanna, like Usher... just pointing out that this has been the NFL's script since 2020. I am sure they would have preferred Swift, but that's also about as liberal as you can get and as has already been pointed out, most performers are going to be that side anyway. I just don't think you were ever going to see Bieber, Sheeran, Post Malone or even god forbid go back to Coldplay , or Maroon 5. the NFL is so huge that I am not sure you can even claim conservatives make up a majority of it's fanbase anymore. It's not like its all cornfed, hillbilly white guys tuning in on Sundays. The NFL has done a solid job of broadening it's fanbase either purposefully (international reach) or accidentally (Swift). Well it's not like dudes our age are the main user demographic for Spotify. But I do subscribe and listen to music a lot during football offseason. There's always good new music out there, and there are some great songs put out by some of those artists. Aside from Bad Bunny, who I have heard very little of, the only artists on the list that I have never liked are Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5. Rock and roll is definitely not well represented, but that doesn’t mean there aren't some great acts out there, especially if you're into indie rock and heavier stuff. I even watched happy Gilmore 2 and had no idea the guy playing his caddy was famous. But I don't listen to music much ... Almost all podcasts. Spotify playlists based on Zz ward and aloe blacc if I do listen to music. Tin cups for the win! I'd bet I've heard one of his songs before though. I probably just didn't know who performed it. The Real timschochet 7,215 Posted yesterday at 01:44 AM So I sampled his music today…and I still don’t like it. But I LOVE his outspokenness about Trump, ICE, immigration, etc. So I hope he uses the halftime show to make a statement to the world about the terrible things our government is doing. It’s much needed.

Lady Gaga has a song called Pokerface that kids in China liked and sounds decent, Justin Beiber is Canadian. Taylor Swift hangs out with Travis Kelce. Eminem has a lytic in one of his songs about mom's spaghetti. I know he sings about 8 Mile, where we both grew up, but I don't know what he has to say about it. Its probably true. I do endorse every word that he says about Scott Mitchell's time as Lions quarterback in the 90s destroying Barry Sanders' career as God's honest truth. His version of events is exactly how I remember it. Ed Shirhan got a cameo on Game of Thrones because the chick who played Arya Stark is a fan. I think he'd threated to quit making music if he lost a lawsuit that he won. My sense is he is a decent talent. I've heard of Kendrick Lamar and Ariana Grand. I know Kanye West best of all of them because of him making an ass of himself in politics but I couldn't ID a single lyric. Beyonce has been around a long time and I know that I can be entertained by her. I may even like a song without knowing she's the one who sang it. Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls works for me. Is that her? That's about the extent I know about any of these acts until we get all the way down to Michael Jackson at 41.

jerryskids 6,986 Posted yesterday at 04:49 AM From that list, Bruno Mars was by far the best halftime show. Possibly second all time to Prince. Re Bad Bunny, I'm in the group of heard of him, I'm sure I'd recognize a song or two, but I couldn't name a song with a gun to my head. I get why the NFL wants to attract younger and international viewers. I'd be surprised if they let him go all political, tho

I got it. What they can do is start the show with like a fat eagle eating a taco, but then bad bunny takes the taco away, and by the end of the show the eagle is all skinny and dying because you know the US will die without tacos and stuff. Symbolism!
