I've been detained and/or arrested a bunch of times.  Never even thought of running from the cops.  If O.J., who played in the NFL, couldn't outrun them how would I even have a chance?  Fortunately, due to my white/asian privilege, I have lived to tell about it.

Once. Was at a party in high school and it got busted. Friend lived near a railroad track in town so I ran down into the train track gulley and tucked into the side of the hill and laid there for what felt like hours, but was in reality like 45 minutes.

yes, very comically. I had just got my license and was speeding past a cop who was parked facing the other direction. As soon as I saw him and realized I was speeding and saw him start to K turn I knew he was going to pull me over. There was a decent distance between us so at the end of the street I'm actually thinking "i'll make a right and then another right, and a left and lose him in the neighborhood"   I made the two rights and there was not a side street in sight. Got pulled over, he told me he was excited when he got his license too, just slow it down.

Same as most, as a kid drinking a couple times.  

One time was caught.  Me and a buddy were leaving one house to walk to another house to continue drinking.   I was carrying a half a case, it was winter.  He sees us on a side street stumbling over ice with beer and we knew he was turning around so we booked it.  Cut up over this spot that was gravel and I slip and down I go along with the beer.  Well he pulls up right beside me on the gravel about 2 seconds later.  So I just got up and stood there.  My buddy kept going.   I didnt get arrested or anything but he put me in cuffs and took me to my parents.  I remember turning to him as we stood in front of the door and asked if I could at least take cuffs off.  He laughed and said nope.  So my mom answers then he took them off and just said he was out running around with beer, he should stay home for the night.

  This time of year when I was nineteen. Standing in line with friends at Zeppelins and some doosh cop heard my friend Blanco as the cops were announcing that the show is over. Two,of the band members were sixteen.  Blanco: This FAWKING SUCKS!!!  Fat City copper. He went to get me, and I just ran. I knew that neighborhood like my chunky babes. I cut through the HS field, jumped a few more fences, had a smoke, and headed to the levee as I was dry. Made it to the Time Saver and got some beer and laughed myself to myself.

Blanco got arrested for drunk in public and disturbing the peace. I got a boo job from Sticky Vickie.

Yes and was playing basketball late at night and we ran and hid in a yard under a pine tree, they was all around us talking and with their flash lights but never caught us. Two years later us same kids caught kids braking into my car and went around and found them and was kinda a big stealing ring in our town and Got a Fraternal Order of Police Award. Write up in the paper and accepted the award on stage amoung thousand or so people in the audience.

Nothing to do with I just mentioned but my childhood best friend ran from police in a car near Pittsburgh going at speed over a 100 mph and wrecking into a older couple and killed them and himself, he burned up and had a close casket funereal was horrible the whole situation. all cause he had a couple Valium on him and a dime bag of weed. Loved that dude and strange thing he is buried right behind my dad and my grand parents by coincidence.

Once. I was following a co-worker back to work after a liquid lunch. We were late getting back so when we had to stop at a red light, my buddy ran the light and I followed him. As soon as I made the left turn on the red, I looked in my rear view and saw a cop about 3 blocks behind me hit his lights and come after us. I floored it around the bend and as soon as I broke line of sight, I turned into the first parking lot I came to. I parked in the first open parking spot I saw, jumped out and began walking to the front door of the office building. 

When I saw the cop fly by heading past me, I went back to my truck and made my way back to work.

I was 20 minutes late getting back from lunch. But I got out of a DUI so it was worth it.

Kinda similar. But I ran with a beer ball. When he caught us. He knifed the ball and emptied it. Then PC'd (protective custodied) me for a ride home.

Several times on foot, never caught. Fleeing busted house parties in HS and college. One night the senior class guys in HS were doing our annual prank which involved some minor, easily cleaned up vandalism at the school. Cops show up, everyone ran. I ran step for step for about 300 yards with a guy on the track team that had qualified for state who under any other circumstance would have dusted me in a foot race. Adrenaline is a helluva drug.
