Hot dogs

Recommended Posts

I had my first hotdog in 2 decades last week and we decided to have them again last night. They taste pretty good, I am not sure why I avoided them for so long.

Oscar Mayer Angus beef grilled over charcoal.

Ketchup lots and lots of ketchup.

Sauerkraut, diced onions, and honey mustard.

However this winter I think I want to try a chili dog as well.

American cheeze slice wrapped with bacon wrapped, toothpicked to dog.

Roasted Serrano optional.

Seriously, once you add bacon and cheese, really hard to go back.

No on honey mustard.

Hormel Wranglers. Bun length, all beef, natural casing. It's the Natural Casing that makes or breaks a dog.

 Fock mustard and relish. That sh!t is nasty.

Depending on the type of dog or brat, I have been using BBQ Sauce lately.

Mustard and relish are the only two things that need to be on a dog.

The burps after a Nathan’s dog will clear out a room.

We keep some around in the freezer for quick meals. Casper's and Nathan's.

Either kraut and mustard

Or BBQ

Hebrew National should get some props here. Sorry, I like ketchup AND mustard and onions/relish on my dogs, and burgers. But if there is kraut around, that and mustard work.

Sam's Club sells Nathan's at a decent price, they also have them at their little snack area for like $1.50 with a drink and if you ask they have single pouches of kraut they'll give you.

The grilling really helps.

Yup.

Burn'em on the grill (or over any type of fire). Ketchup, mustard, onions and dogs are awesome.

I never mix ketchup and mustard on a dog. I'll either do ketchup and relish, or if I have all of the ingredients a Chicago dog (mustard, onion, dill pickle, tomato, celery salt, I skip the relish).

Also I rarely eat them these days, because I try to eat healthy. Pretty much only at a ballgame.

even though I eat them, even with the all-beef dogs, when you see that slurry of meat paste come out of the freaking fire hose? It's really tough to reach for the hot dogs after that.

The smart play is cheese in the crevice of the bun underneath the hot dog. This way, you run less risk of the bun falling apart and you create a bit of a seal for all the other toppings.

I'm good with cheese. Mayo is disgusting, I couldn't even imagine it on a hot dog. Why do you hate America? :(

Mayo on a hot dog is fer queers who think the hot dog itself isn't phallic enough.

They'd sprinkle some Sprouts on there for pubes if they could get away with it.

Mustard, spicy mustard, raw onion, relish, texas hot sauce, maybe some diced jalapeno is about what I consider on a dog. Not all at once but a combo of these things.

I like all beef hot dogs with mustard, ketchup and onions. There arent any good places to get a good dog in C. Florida though. Cant even think of the last time I saw a hot dog place around here.

Yellow mustard and onion only for me.

Or, split them in half and throw them flat side down in a pan cook over medium heat until nice and charred.
