This is the crap I predicted and saw coming. Leads to more crime. Smart black criminals know they have a longer leash and wiggle room.

It's gonna take some time for trump to pull us out of the pit of idiocy Obama buried those communities in.

O, he doesn't. It took a major hurricane to clean this place up in NO. Crime has one answer it seems... remove the bad guys, put them in cities that don't tolerate their BS, and start from scratch. Look at the murder rates for NO from the early 80's to today.

Yeah, Houston continues to thank you for Hurricane Katrina.

Next time New Orleans gets hit? I recommend background checks for evacuees.

It's a shame the media did such a censoring job on the Rodney King riots. But God forbid they show black people rioting and doing bad and violent things.

That 's coming again. And if you study up on that ? You had Asians on the rooftops with guns and every other race staking out their territory.

Not much has changed.

Is this the thread where we pretend things aren't like they really are?

Its the thread where one group acts like the apocalypse is coming, another group acts like everything is hunky dory, and the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Just like every political thread here pretty much.

No one likes scrutiny. But thanks for the input. Quite profound.

Honestly, the last 20 years or so, cops have become nothing more than tax collectors. Seriously, just like the Sheriff of Nottingham. More interested in generating Revenue than fighting crime. So if some of them are reluctant to participate in that bullshit, I'm fine with it.

And as long as the disproportionate number of people that black people kill our other black people? Moore's the better.

There is a lot of truth to this. In many jurisdictions, it has gone from serve and protect to Harass and fleece

Police should be open to criticism just like any other profession. Given the nature of their job, and the consequences when things go badly, all the more reason too.

That criticism should be fair however.

I dont believe cops are racist. Any more than any other segment of the population anyway. Although I am sure that having to patrol the monkey cage ghetto all the time does affect how you see things. And yeah. I have zero doubt they approach a car full of 20 something males, of whatever race, with bandanas and tattoos with rap music blaring differently than they do a car full of guys in ties. Youd be a moron not to.

At the end of the day, they are on the front line of a failing society. Given what they do, they obviously spend most of their time in the areas that are the most failed, as thats where the crime is.

Their job, like that of teachers, EMT, social workers, etc, has become damn near impossible. They should be criticized when they fock up, so that such Fock ups dont happen again. But they absolutely deserve utmost respect.

Most of the cops I know hate doing the things that people hate about cops. Traffic shakedowns for instance. Most of them also get sick of the constant corruption and utter incompetence their bosses in city government display.

I honestly dont know how one keeps that job and stays sane. Spending all day or night answering domestics, chasing crackheads, etc. Fock that. I wouldnt do it for four times the pay. So Im inclined not to give them too much sh!t for it.

Cops have the ability to ruin peoples lives with the amount of power they wield. Fair or not, that's why people scrutinize their actions so much. I agree with what you said. They deserve the utmost respect. The ones who are found to be corrupt or bad cops, those guys need to be hammered.

There was a local cop, I believe it was local, who got drunk at the bar and proceeded to beat the absolute shlt out of this tiny female bartender. It was all caught on camera. He got off with a mere slap on the wrist. That fùcker needs to be fired and sent to prison

Ill agree. The blue line thing sucks. Internal affairs should be better than it seems to be in many cities.

Chicago. IPhone warranties from start to finish. Got that whole thing was up. Then the cops sent his buddies in to intimidate the bartender and the crab so they wouldn't testify against him. The whole thing was shity as hell. But hey, it was a little white girl and it was long before black lives matter.

HT inadvertently made my point while attempting to be a pr1ck. Nobody wants scrutiny. Especially cops, because they historically have been able to operate without it. And I am sort of sympathetic for the reasons Titans said - its an impossible job. However, the deck is stacked so heavily in their favor and people are so willing to give police the benefit of the doubt already that these recent shootings probably deserve the scrutiny theyre starting to get.

Only a couple of the shootings were because of police incompetence and at least one of the cops paid the price with a conviction. Slager got 20 years because he obviously up. 99% of these involve low life losers with rap sheets already so in my opinion, they have no right to dispute their beatdown.

The media says he just took his little sister to a dance.....and all of ththe sudden he is being choked.

Um...ZERO. Even the guy in Arizona that was gunned down in the hallway of the hotel, focked up when he reached for his waist to pull his pants up.

The cop virtually guaranteed something was going to go wrong when instead of cuffing the guy he started barking a series of orders that quite likely would result in a sudden or unpredictable movement. That cop was 100% in the wrong and should never police again.
