4 pointsThis started when Buck wondered why people on the right were only upset when explicit sex scenes occur in books for gay teens and not hetero ones, I said they would be if books like that were targeting teenagers. That was when you gave us a list of books aimed at teens, and while some did have passages that were dubious and have proven controversial in the past, we learned that there are none nearly as sexually explicit as the books written that target gay teens, books that our corporate media shower with praise and paint opponents as book burners and sensors. I thought maybe a good case could be made against me that I was being a hypocrite. I like Fast Times at Ridgemont High for example wheras I do indeed find gay sex personally disgusting and repugnant. So, since I wanted the gay books Senator Kennedy read passages from not available on school library shelves, I left myself quite vulnerable when occurrences of such themes occur in books aimed at straight teens. Come to find out... even the most risque of books aimed at straight teens aren't nearly so graphic (which is what I expected all along. The books that target gay teens with sexual themes cross way, way more lines than the ones that target straight teens. We can't find anything the equivalent of Some Boys Aren't Blue and Gender Queer in the straight teen literature. Thus far not one. And ... the ones that bother to try have been criticized.

3 points@Sean Mooney Not sure if you play poker or even know the terminology but it’s time to fold your hand.

3 pointsI'm not going through all of them, but taking the time to check out and learn that the first two on his list are not nearly as bad and that at least the one has indeed faced objections really blows a hole in his point.

2 pointsHe’s been doing this for years at his son’s games. He walks in during the anthem so as not to cause any extra attention. Perhaps the word “dirt” should be applied, not to LeBron, but to the folks who try to make a big deal out of this. Just shut up about it.

2 pointsThe country was founded on religious freedom and the government was built around the separation of church and state, where the government can't force any religion upon you or persecute you from your religion. So, if there are any religious structures inside the state capitol building, then the satanic alter should stay... if there aren't, then it should come down.

2 points#1.) I'm not the authority of all young adult novels. I gave you an initial list of books that have been criticized in the past for being too sexual for teens. Are their heavier examples than what I mentioned? Probably. Again- my larger point was in these cases there are people stretching their beliefs onto others. I'm against that. Would I personally read All Boys Aren't Blue or Gender Queer? No I wouldn't. I'm not gay and I'm just not that interested. I would assume someone who is gay and is interested would want to read it. I'm also not going to get overly upset about reading passages of the book stripped of context. For all I know- that blurb you read is a small part where the person is talking about an initial sexual experience. Plenty of books deal with the awkwardness of the first time be it more graphic or sensual. However, if the book is not in a curriculum (and to be clear- it absolutely shouldn't be) and is something a kid is deciding to pick up off the book shelves- so be it. #2.) It's not about someone being a hypocrite to me and if you took that as me implying that about you I apologize. It is about how what people want banned in books is a moving target and is more about them having their way over someone else. I may not like a particular book for whatever reason but if you do you should be able to read it. It should not matter what I think. Likewise- if a gay kid wants to read something that speaks to their experience they should be able to read it. The book shouldn't be forced on people or forced into their hands but if they pick it up so be it. In many schools across the country those two books are not even on shelves- they are in an online catalog that kids have to actively seek out to find. #3.) Again to be clear- I'm not saying "Screw it, this stuff should all be out there for everyone." I'm also not saying "We need to eliminate it all." I'm saying- "Let's let kids teenagers have some autonomy in what they read and let's let parents have some say in that discussion." If teachers are forcing kids to read a book with strongly graphic gay sex passages they should face consequences.

2 pointsI've got one, brand new - used once. Of all the cooking apparatuses I own (Weber Kettle grill, offset smoker, Treager, Char Broil gas grill and Blackstone gridle) my Sous Vides is the least desirable method to prepare food of the bunch. I'm trying to give mine away.

2 pointsFind me a hetero book that involves teen sex and reads like Not all Boys are Blue or Gender Queer (if you can) and I'll find you a book that already isn't in any school library anywhere, although Roman Polanski and R. Kelly might have a personal copy.

1 point1. Family separation. I don’t believe in that. 2. I’m not worried about you or anyone else who thinks like you- you’re never going to vote for Biden anyhow. I’m concerned about the independent voter who doesn’t think about this issue unless it’s an emergency- and right now it’s an emergency. We need to remove it from emergency status so that they focus on other issues at the ballot box. Can that be done in 6 months? I don’t know. But they’d better try.
-
1 pointNot inhumanely. What did trump do inhumanely? Use Obamas cages? Tds severe. The borders should have never been open. And if you think there is a single voter that’s gonna be like well Biden tried to do something in the last 6 months I’m gonna vote for him now. You’re dumb

1 pointThe Supreme Court does not make law it interprets the law. Democrats in Washington had 50 years to codify Roe v Wade. They chose not to so the Supreme Court had to turn it over to the states to make their own laws.

1 pointI’m not trying to troll. I’ve written before that I approve very much of most woke ideas, which are about treating everyone with dignity and respect. I like living in a woke society and I’d like our schools to have more of this, not less. And yes I’m dead serious. Are there exceptions when woke can go too far? Sure, and you guys love pointing them out. When you do I will probably agree with you in that particular instance. But overall what are we talking about when it comes to woke? Respect for gays and trans. The Me Too movement. Acknowledging the dangers of man-made climate change. Teaching the truth about the history of American race relations, and recognizing that some institutional racism still exists today. These are all good positive things. I’m for them, and I want woke to win out.

1 pointIt cooks to temperature in a water bath (think precise stouffers). 20 years ago I used it to poach lobster (and other seafood) for specific dishes. Many people will cook, say a filet, to temperature and finish on the grill. i personally do not love the texture or flavor of doing beef this way. I could see the value for some chicken dishes.

1 pointSenator Kennedy starts quoting the book 46 seconds in. I will make three points nothing in the Vampire Academy books from the link of the steamy scenes contains such graphic detail as Some Boys Aren't Blue. feel free to read/listen to both. apparently Duff goes into even less detail there are indeed objections to the Vampire Academy books being appropriate for school libraries

1 pointNo it’s evidence that they need no more and are just fine. It’s also evidence that if we provided nothing we would have wiped them out if they tried to go into a nato nation. but keep going with that war machine. Maybe we can overthrow another govt so we can do more wars
