You people just want to bicker with each other. Both sides making facile arguments, deliberately ignoring any nuance to the issue. Good God, what happened to meaningful discourse?

I listened to Chuck Todd give some analysis today and I thought he sounded smart. One thing he said that fascinated me: even with the current border crisis, even with the majority of the nation concerned about it, he’s still not convinced it will be much of factor in November. His point was this: the border and undocumented immigration is most important to conservatives but they’re voting for Trump anyhow. It’s least important to Democrats and they’re voting for Biden anyhow. That leaves the independents, and Todd thinks they are very concerned about the border but not enough to make it a priority issue. Todd also doesn’t think that either Ukraine or crime or the threat to democracy are priority issues either. So what, according to Chuck Todd, are the issues that will actually move the needle with independents? Economy, inflation, dislike of either candidate, and abortion, not necessarily in that order.

Wow. I couldn’t disagree with you more strongly. An intractable lead? Hardly. In fact I don’t think it’s any kind of real lead at all. As I’ve said all along this race hasn’t begun yet because the majority of the public isn’t paying attention and they haven’t accepted that it’s Trump vs Biden. Once they do, and it still may not happen for a few months or until the conventions- the numbers will change. Even then, this election is going to come down to a handful of states- mainly Pennsylvania and Michigan. It will be close no doubt but I firmly believe that Biden will win. I do agree with you that the legal cases won’t move the needle.

I read about this at the time and I’m on Russell’s side here if what he said is true. You can bench the guy for performance reasons but don’t threaten benching unless he modified his contract. Yeah he’s a millionaire. The controlling owner of the Broncos was chairman of Walmart so I’m not too worried about him either.

I agree with Worms here. It’s Hollywood, make-believe. No way in hell should a live round be given to an actor in that situation. JFC, I have to go shower now.

i strongly doubt it’s going to be a big win or a big loss- either would very much surprise me. I’m expecting a win but a loss won’t surprise me either. Will I be depressed? Sure for a few days or so. But I’ll wish Trump well (so long as the country does well), I’ll pay my debts (I’m gonna owe a few people around here some money) and then keep on fighting the good fight. We will survive. But I’m not expecting or looking forward to that outcome.

HT so desperately wants the economy to be bad that he is willing to pay more than 26 times the going price of watermelon to prove it.

I understand that Trump is telling you that crime is out of control, and then you see crimes on social media and believe it. But I urge all of you to think for yourselves and look at the facts. https://jasher.substack.com/p/crime-in-2023-murder-plummeted-violent

You're talking about years of national data vs a one time event. Be serious. What you're saying is "yeah I understand that you've shared data with shows that violent crime decreased nationally last year and that this "migrant crime" talk is not true, but I'm ignoring all of it because the national guard was sent to the NYC subway." You know how foolish that sounds? I looked into the subway thing. It was a reaction, some say overreaction to a few high profile crimes committed within weeks of each other. It's more symbolic than anything and will be short lived. You can read about it here https://abc7ny-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/abc7ny.com/amp/nyc-subway-crime-nypd-governor-hochul/14495270/?amp_gsa=1&amp_js_v=a9&usqp=mq331AQIUAKwASCAAgM%3D#amp_tf=From %1%24s&aoh=17098103986675&csi=1&amp

@shadrap I have no idea if you’re a Trump fan in particular but you’re definitely a conservative and, based on this post and others you’re opposed to Ukraine funding and believe in a hardline against undocumented immigration, which puts you firmly in the Trump camp this time around. Now there’s no doubt that when we poll the public a majority thinks that the country is not moving in the right direction- heck even I would agree with that and I’m very much an optimist. But I don’t think everyone would share your specific reasons for thinking so. So if you believe that everybody who is pissed is going to automatically vote for Trump to come back I’m just not convinced that will be the case.

So you, too, believe that watermelon is $23 a pound? Let the MAGAturd deflections begin! Walmart has lots of watermelons in the NYC area for vastly less than $23 a pound. PM me your addresses so I can send you watermelons so as you don't get duped by some street-corner melon salesman trying to get you to pay $23 a pound.

Exactly. No need for the democrat dark $$ to fund the violence

Same. He looks smarmy. Well, we are a blue state anyways so I just assume they will win. Which is too bad, because Schiff has a pretty terrible voting record if people actually cared about policy and read stuff about him. But they don't. They just hear that the other guy voted for Trump and freak out.

Totalitarianism is a more apt moniker. Modern Democrats are totalitarians by behavior and words. They see themselves as the only "right" ones and anyone else is evil and must be eliminated. Its dark stuff.

Trump's cap only applied to Medicare. Biden made it widely available for all. But you won't applaud Biden, nope never, because you're a retarded hack.
