You've got the touch

You've got the power!

I rented this movie a couple years ago and thought, what sh!tty @ss music for a cartoon movie. Then I watched some of the extra's and the producers who made the movie were like, "The music is what really makes it. When Whatshisname grabs the Whateveritwas and becomes Rodimus Prime (or whatever it was) and the song You've got the Touch comes on...it just gives me chills."

I was like  then I was like  then finally I was

Championship!

No Easy Way Out is a good choice, but all pales in comparison to Danielson's song.

Queen had some decent ones. Wayne's World had 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and the Nerds movie had 'We are the Champions'. I mean come on, who didn't start balling like a baby when they hit that song at the end of that Nerds movie.

Simple Minds 'Don't You Forget About Me' and Bob Seger 'Old Time Rock and Roll' are worth a mention.

Best ORIGINAL soundtrack from a movie?

I agree with Twister, Van Halen had some :dunno: songs on there. My favorite was

Maybe kind of gay, but Whitney on the Bodyguard had some incredible songs, the best vocals ever recorded.

It seems like the early-mid 90s are when movie soundtracks peaked. Also you can't forget about....

The best opening scene ever :overhead:

Dokken - Dream Warriors

Nightmare On Elmstreet 3: Dream Warriors

The theme song of the movie, Dream Warriors, was written and performed by the American heavy metal band Dokken. The success of the single led to the following sequels to include a heavy metal song in its soundtrack.

In the original VHS release of the film, during the opening sequence, a hard rock instrumental version of the song Quiet Cool is playing. The original version of that song, performed by Joe Lamont, was written for the movie with the same name in 1986. When Dream Warriors was released on DVD, the song that was on the original theatrical release, Into the Fire by Dokken, was reinserted.

 :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger:

Ok, on a more serious note...Best Around (Karate Kid), Eye of the Tiger (Rocky) and No Easy Way Out (Rocky) all enter the conversation. Say Anything has to merit consideration if only for Lloyd Dobler standing in the rain with is boombox blaring out "In Your Eyes" (Peter Gabriel).

As far as soundtrack instrumentals go

That is one powerful piece of music! I love it when artist overcome people's pre-concieved ideas about there craft. In this case, I was a person who couldn't imagine the relevance of a German synth band. They sure kicked my a$$.

The truck on the shaking bridge with that music as a sound track is perfection.

Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode - Back to the Future (just a personal fave really)
