Pick any band to play a backyard party at your place

Recommended Posts

If you could pick any artist/band to play an outdoor party on your property (let's just assume you have a spacious property) and it would cost you nothing, who would you pick?

I'd take Eric Clapton, unplugged of course. With just a few close friends sitting around a campfire.

For pure entertainment value, someone like Kid Rock. Midgets, bewbs and booze can't be wrong.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer band, with Mr. Fingers Taylor on harmonica.

I'd be torn between seeing a band that I'd really love to see (like U2 or Kansas or the Who) and an act that would make it a wild time with lots of hot chicks (like Kid Rock or Rihanna). Or maybe Toto. :music_guitarred:

The Go -gos

I want to bang Belinda in a very bad way.

If there was no chance of Belinda banging, then I'd prolly go with Shinedown.

Define play. What if we're having a dodgeball tourney?

Tom Petty

A couple that my wife and I are friends with manage a ranch for a wealthy owner. They attended his wedding last year. Tom Petty played the reception.

If it were just for me - Maiden. Love the music, and cool guys that would be fun to have a few beers with between sets.

If it were me and all my friends plus friend's friends, I'd go with ZZ Top, Dave Matthews (I don't like him, but everyone else would), or maybe Bruce (I'm sure he'd be a great private show).

Or Tenacious D. That would be awesome.

If I could play the time travel game, it would be Zep by far. Or circa 1990 Whitesnake - those guys were amazing live.

Best of both worlds...

Prince

Afterwards we'd go school The King and Duck at the park in a little 2v2 b-ball.

I've seen Petty five or six times. Saw him last year at Jazz Fest and it was one of my favorite all time shows I've seen there. Jazz Fest is kind of like a backyard party. Except the back yard is the infield of the haorse racing track.

Creedence, circa 1970

Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band

Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon?

Petty is option 2A. Buffett is option 2B
