So a Cruz ad started this entire thing by using Trump's wife, cool buddy, Thanks.

what a sad sad state of affairs

also what's a picture company?

I had to read that a few times myself, but he meant "comparing" instead of "company".

Semantics. Most popular because they were seen like celebrities...the Kennedy's of Camelot.

Legacy...Eleanor Roosevelt. Winner goes to the one who has a statue in her honor. (Although maybe if we give it 25 year or so...)

I'll go with Martha Washington.

An ad by a PAC...not even sure if it was official Cruz or the Anyone But Trump movement.

So claiming Cruz started it is factually incorrect...and stupid and childish to go along with it.

I am constantly amazed by how Trump supporters justify or simply shrug off his outrageous behavior

It's a valid concern. One of about 60 I have. And why I cannot in good conscious vote for him, even though I'm a registered republican. Just can't vote for this guy. It's become comical and embarrassing and could be dangerous.

Trump isn't really a republican anyway as much as an independent who knows an independent can't win with our silly party system so his best bet was to align that way.

Especially since the ad of Mrs Trump didn't even come from Cruz's campaign. It's possible Ted signed off on the ad but we don't know that.

We do know that Trump is a child.

Not a Trump supporter, feel free to prove otherwise.

Because many people can't admit Trump sucks and have to deflect to something else.

I'm not a Trump supporter, I'm a Kasich supporter. The best things I ever said about Trump are

1) I think that he'd be a less bad president than Hillary, Bernie, Cruz, Jeb! and Rubio

2) that I am thoroughly enjoying the theatrics of his act.

3) I am ecstatic at the damage he's doing to the Republican establishment.

And I don't come to his defense when he screws up. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever come to his defense at all as it's probably impossible as I possess neither the mental gymnastics nor the post writing skills required to pull it off.

I do reserve the right to defend him though if he's ever accused of something stupid that really isn't his fault but by my reckoning, thus farm 100% of the poop he steps in really is his fault. But you never know. If he sets off 1000 explosions, chances are maybe only 999 are really his fault, so yeah, if Trump needs me to go to bat for him on the other one that isn't, I'll be there.

This re-tweet was probably a mistake because America is packed full of fugly women who vote, some fuglies that may support him will be put off by this. Not everybody can have a foreign model for a wife like Trump and I do. I, for one, appreciate the contrast and comparison.

I'm a Kasich supporter

Then you'll be happy with this news:

Washington (CNN)GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump and Ohio Gov. John Kasich are virtually tied for support in Pennsylvania, according to a new poll, released a month before the state's Republican voters make their pick for their presidential nominee.

And also:

The poll also does not use weighting to correct for older voters' being more likely to respond to surveys. That means older voters may be over-represented in the poll's results. About 4-in-10 respondents to this poll are 65 or older, and just 8% are in the 18-34 year-old demographic.

Which actually bodes in Kasich's favor over Trump. Old White Guy is Trumps base.

If Kasich wins PA, Trump can all but say bye bye to 1237. We're going to Cleveland.

Cant speak for everyone, but it is not about defending Trump, it is smacking down ignorance about him or how folks are wrong in some of their criticism of him.

There is plenty of times the criticism is correct, and I do not defend his position in those threads. It is more defending his positions than the candidate. I wish someone else had some of his positions actually. Like maybe a GOPer who has claimed to have those positions but cave first chance they get.

Three separate polls this week all say the same thing.

It's time the Republican Party figures this out and backs the actual adult running who has any shot to win in November. Keep Donald from getting to 1237, even up the delegates to a manageable discrepancy and then all coalesce around John Kasich.

We need more leadership and less shenanigans.

I think some put way too much stock in these polls(Not talking about you in particular, I am just being general). In the Kentucky race for Governor this past year, all the polls had Matt Bevin losing the race and he he ended up winning by a pretty good margin.

Kasich is a total lightweight, bought and paid for by the establishment. He's exactly the reason Trump has traction. The rank and file republican voters have had enough of the assembly line candidate.

So lemme get this straight. He is bought and paid for by the "establishment" yet Romney was in Utah campaigning for ..... Cruz.

And Kasich said the GOP should consider the SCJ Obama selected and said if the right person was a moderate and smart person even if a Dem he'd have no problem have them be a VP. Both of which fly into the face and go against the "establishment" GOP.

You can't have it both ways fellas.

Romney is a joke, dude endorsed someone else not even a week before he endorsed Cruz. Who the fock does that stupid shtt and how can anyone ever take him seriously after endorsing two different people in the same focking race inside of a week.

I do not believe either one of those fly into the face of the Establishment, sounds right down their ally. That all we hear is about reaching across the isle, some flat walk all the way across it, like McCain.

They have fought Trump and Cruz FAR more than Obama's entire presidency. They would rather destroy their own front runner even if that means losing the White House to a democrat. Look how many have came out and said they would vote for Hillary over Trump.

Many Republicans have came out and said the same thing about that judge too.

Sounds just like the Establishment to me.

Well, maybe because I'm a registered voter in a swing state that will be in play this year, my roots are Macomb County which is the epicenter of what was once Considered Reagan Democrat country and understand how the people there think, and because I've voted Dem in four straight presidential elections but will vote GOP this year for reasons that may be of interest. I also like to think that I can explain my thinking lucidly enough, although you think I'm a Trump supporter and think I've defended him so maybe I wasn't clear enough because in your case it doesn't seem to have seeped in.

Or maybe your just dense.

Anyways, Now explain why we should care what a liberal who's off sucking Hillary's cawk in California and is also a personal insulting a$$hole thinks about things.

Surely that's the downside. Kasich though is as good as it gets as far as establishment GOP goes. If we can swing the Party behind a guy who's main priority default position is deficit reduction, a guy who scores it higher than tax cuts for the wealthy, give him four/eight years to define the GOP position, then the Republican Party is actually salvageable.

I like how Trump will break and smash things, Kasich is more incremental tweaks. To be honest for how much I say I like smashing and breaking the GOP power structure, I am a bit nervous as I'm not sure I'll like how it's rebuilt, I just trust it'll be impossible that however it's rebuilt can suck less than it is now with the Bushtards, Rubios, and Romneys of the world running it.

Most establishment Republicans don't care anything about the deficit other than offer lip service as their lack of enthusiasm for Kasich shows. It's hardly surprising to people that care deeply about this issue see the lack of support from the establishment GOP over this as they're the ones most responsible, even more than the Dems.

Well I say, if they can't rally around the deficit reduction guy, they can go to hell and I'll be on board cheering as Trump blows the whole place up.

Also, this is not a criticism of Cruz. We have our differences but they're not deep and I'm comfortable enough with him. I don't doubt his commitment to deficit reduction and that goes a long way with me.

Look how many have came out and said they would vote for Hillary over Trump.

I agree with the bit about th establishment destroying their own front runner. If they think Cruz is going to be their savior, their expectations are out of whack. All three of these GOP candidates left offer something totally different than what they're selling. It's nice to see the party completely reject them.

I highlighted this sentence though. I'm not aware of anyone who's said they would support Hillary over Trump. The funny thing is they're all afraid of offending Trump's voters. I really, really like this. The Trump/Cruz tag-team is destroying the establishment and the elected Party elites are more afraid of their bad constituents than their big money owners, that's a huge and completely positive development.

For those sh1tbag corporately owned Congressman who's main function in life is putting tax loopholes for the wealthy or ensuring the government only accepts no bid work from your defense contractor owner at the price the defense contractor wants the government to pay, them and their lobbyist buddies are crapping their pants and I totally love it.

Voltaire, you're being an idiot. It's embarrassing

I don't know of any Republican officials that have said that they would back Hillary over Trump. As in, not one. Not even retired ones that will never face voters again and have nothing to lose. Zero.

Not even Jennifer Rubin who I can't stand - but not nearly as much as she can't stand Donald Trump. Oh, such venom. Nor Romney who looks to me like he's trying to swipe the nomination for himself.

As of right now, nobody in the GOP ranks has come out for Hillary in a H2H matchup with Trump. Granted, If/when Trump secures the nomination, they will likely come forward since Trump is hated by many.

Maybe I missed something but I keep my ear close to the ground on this stuff. Do you know of any?

Oh.

Yeah, the birther thing alone should have done him in. Then there was the McCain insult and how abjectly ridiculous it is to claim that Mexico would pay for a wall; not to mention being blovating jacka$$. It's been hard to reach this point.

At any rate, he's already killed off the worst of the Republican lot (unless a warmed over Bushtard emerges from the convention) and it's been hard to hate him since despite being so despicable, he's kept a smile on my face and provided plenty of laughs for months. He's also pulling the GOP away from the deficit-loving chickenhawks that serve their donors interest rather than the public interest. And since he's running against Hillary, he's worth a roll of the dice.

This could be our one shot in our lifetime of getting a Teddy Roosevelt. You laugh. but that's the upside. It's either Hillary or door #2, why not door #2? If the national Republican Party reorganizes and realigns around Trump, only good things result. If they don't I have no use for their 2014 version anyways. Hopefully he succeeds. If he falls on his face, the takes the Republican Party down with him... no loss, good riddance.

And of course that's all assuming he actually wins. His negatives are through the roof. The chances of him beating Hillary are really low. Even if he beats Hillary, the chances an establishment-rigged Electoral College will go his way seem remote as well.

It would help his cause with me if he wasn't such a clueless idiot blowhard but it is what it is. He's done a lot of good shining light on the GOP base's lack of enthusiasm for the issues the donor class is most concerned about which is the uber-rich avoiding paying taxes and their platinum plated tax loopholes and that in itself is a service along with their supply side BS and the lie about tax cuts grow the pie so are deficit neutral.

It Trump fails, maybe somebody who isn't so ridiculous and obnoxious will notice. This selling the same old Bustarded policies with Rubio's young fresh Cuban face didn't work. After Hillary crushes him, hopefully somebody both honorable and reserved picks up where Trump left off in 2020.
