Would you support the Feds requiring photo I.D. for all General Elections?

Recommended Posts

In theory, Yes. It would eliminate most election fraud.

The problem is absentee balloting. You would need to get rid of that completely, or come up with some sort of software that uses facial recognition/finger print when you cast a vote.

Absolutely not. As to why, we've been around this block many many times. Go dig up some old threads if you want to see it already beaten to death

When you say absolutely not, that's a pretty strong answer. Just list one reason why you're against it.

Props to mobb and Sho.

I think the microchip in our heads is enough...A Fed issued card would be overkill imo

Good point about absentee ballot, but I think that can be addressed without such measures.

Worms thinks minorities are too dumb and lazy to find their way down to the DMV to get an I.D.

I would support voter ID legislation, sure. I would also recommend we purge the voter rolls every few years to combat the absentee fraud.

Anybody who can't be bothered to obtain an ID and register really shouldn't be voting imo.

Of course we would have to find a way to assist the elderly and infirmed but if you're able bodied and value your right to vote, get yourself an I.D. and register every 4 years.

My state already requires it, no issues.

There's simply no good reason all other states shouldn't do the same.

31 states require some form of ID, this ship has rightfully sailed. The only people that are still fighting this are people who are ok with voter fraud.

I support voting online / over the phone. Present ID to register, then vote with you SS# and a pin followed by paper trail confirmation of your vote. I think it's freaking ridiculous that every sate handles voting differently.

I agree. Some states require NO identification whatsoever.

Filthy was nowhere to be found When Trump was a joke to even the Fox News crowd. But now that Trump Has somehow won, He thinks he's George Will. He's basically the equivalent of a Patriots fan In January of 2005.

I've already discussed why I was absent from the bored but keep on swinging 'wiff' (swing and a miss).

Care to chime in with a response to the topic or just launch a personal attack from the left?

Absolutely. Every adult already has one. There is zero reason not to show ID when voting when you need it for EVERYTHING else in society.

You start out with a falsehood...or is it an alternate fact?

Depends what your definition of adult is. The right thinks people can be responsible, and act like an adult should. The left wants to keep people in an infantile state.

For grown ass adults who don't have one they have over 3 years to figure out how to get one. Can you honestly say a grown adult can't figure out how to get a government issue ID by then? Is that what you're saying? THREE FOCKING YEARS?

I honestly don't understand why the left thinks people can some how live a life without government issue ID? Everyone has one.

How is this even a thing?

If a FORMER President can give away "free" phones, an AMERICAN President should be able to give away "free" IDs.

Yes. One should be able to prove who they are in order to vote, very simple and not at all hard for anyone.

Pure politics. The government has hundreds of laws that require ID.

I can honestly say if your post reflects your thoughts that you are downright ignorant on who doesand doesn't have an ID. That requiring it without providing means to obtain one for those without is a non starter and is what people are talking about as a problem with disenfranchisement of certain groups of voters.

Because you lived your bubble and refuse to educate yourself on the issue.

Well,of course it's politics.

Why I say it has to be free and easily obtained is that you all are trying to solve a statistically insignificant problem of voter fraud with an ineffective method. And doing so because of the statistics of who has doesn't have IDs.

Now, Imnot saying that's why you necessarily want voter ID laws...but it's why the GOP does. The democrats oppose it for the opposite reason.

The goal is to let as many Americans as possible vote. That's the only way to get thorough representation. We need to make it easier, not more difficult.

Also, voting fraud is a right wing created lie. There has never been proof that there is enough of it done to make the slightest difference. hth

Shouldn't IDs be free and easily obtainable anyway. Disenfranchisement is not necessarily related to voting. ID should be given away, no excuse for not having one.

This would be my main objection to this proposal.... Voting is a right granted to each citizen upon birth. You should not be forced into having to purchase something as a prerequisite to vote.

Also - it's focking 2017 people... We've sent men to the moon, we've split the atom, we've got GPS satellites in space that you can operate with your phone, we've got self driving cars about to hit the market, heart transplants are now routine - we can't figure out a system for automated voting by virtue of technology, really?

Pull on your left ear, vote for DEM

Pull on your right ear, vote for REP

Pull your tongue, vote for IND
