wiffleball 4,686 Posted September 20, 2018 They're getting played a hell of a lot on certain channels which means It must be a dead time prior to the new season. Imagine there's at least half a dozen different poles that could be made about the subject. Best movie worst movie best Bond worst Bond hottest Bond girl least hottest Bond girl best and worst bad guy Etc And, by all means, feel free. Just seems to me they don't age well. It'll be easy to say that theyre silly, but there's a lot of silly action films that seem to age relatively well. Don't know what it is about the Bond films. But without them, there would be no Austin Powers movies. And that would be a shame.

MDC 5,979 Posted September 20, 2018 Not a fan at all. Probably cause the series was already crap when I was growing up in the 80s. Never saw most of the Sean Connery ones and dont care if I ever do.

wiffleball 4,686 Posted September 20, 2018 John Cleese was on one of the talk shows and they're asking him about playing Q and what he thought of all the movies. He made a face like he just smell a rancid turd. He had absolutely nothing good to say. Said he never watched a single one of those movies. Spent most the time Riffing on the stupid titles. Tomorrow is yesterday yesterday is forever. He was hysterical
Reality 2,711 Posted September 20, 2018 The most recent Daniel Craig Bond movies are pretty good. I haven't seen many of the old movies but, those that I have watched are laughably bad.

patweisers44 710 Posted September 20, 2018 Hate to go all Posty on you guys, but I have never seen a Bond movie start to finish. I may have seen bit and pieces of a few of them, but nothing memorable. Except the dude in Goldfinger that was parodied in Austin Powers (Odd Job vs Random Task)

Big Guy 1,400 Posted September 20, 2018 Wow seriously guys? Bond movies up until recently have always been the most action packed, cutting edge Spy Movies with a historic bevvy of Babes. I'm about to revoke your Man Cards!!!!
Cloaca du jour 2,084 Posted September 20, 2018 The books are way better than the movies...more deadly and serious. I always loved the movies....great action opener..then the theme with the naked sillouhettes then a solid spy movie with crazy gadgets and plots. Do they hold up well? No...our technology today makes many of those things seem lame instead of oooh aaaah cool kinda gadgets. Hate em all you want but I will always be a fan. Oh...and the austin powers movies were epic parody of them. Need more of them.

Herbivore 920 Posted September 20, 2018 Will always love the Bond movies..just grew up with a bunch of them. Seeing Octopussy and For Your Eyes Only in the theater when I was like 11 were moving experiences. I was moved. As some have said, they don't hold up all that well. Dr. No, From Russia With Love, and Goldfinger are great nevertheless.
tanatastic 2,061 Posted September 20, 2018 Seen em all I think. Most all men have seen at least some of them. The mission impossible movies are also really good, especially this latest one. What straight male doesnt like secret agent, spy thrillers? Whats next for the GC, gonna demonize sports movies? I already ran Phakeybear off the board for never seeing a Rocky movie despite claiming to be from Philly (lie).

bandrus1 413 Posted September 21, 2018 "The best movies are the ones 12-year-old kids go back to see 5-10 times." ~seemingly Every Hollywood producer in 2018 You realize there are a lot of really good movies being made other than huge block buster super hero movies right? Movie houses need those though because the move they make fule a ton of other projects. It is not an easy line of work to be in... One flop for many studios and they are done. bandrus1 413 Posted September 21, 2018 And as far as boat goes, I liked all the Daniel Craig ones. I am sure they were all very good in their time. I don't think they age well, which is fine
titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted September 21, 2018 And as far as boat goes, I liked all the Daniel Craig ones. I am sure they were all very good in their time. I don't think they age well, which is fine I like the pierce brosnan ones. I really like the Daniel Craig ones too. They have a darker, more serious feel than previous incarnations. The Sean Connery ones were good, but campy, and havent aged well. The roger Moore ones largely suck.
scott4507 2 Posted September 21, 2018 Bond movies have been around almost 60 years! 60 years! Longer than most on this board have been alive..... Name another movie franchise that comes close. Dated? Of course. Campy? Several of them are absolutely unwatchable. But the whole premise is still what made the Rat Pack and Playboy last so long. Fock a , slap a , cap a bad guy, drink a martini, drive a cool ride, have the latest tech gadgets and do it all in style. Never seen a Bond movie? Try From Russia with Love, Casino Royale and Skyfall. Damn good movies, even if Bond weren't involved.

Ive been in the room when a Bond movie was on several times. Ive even for watched a few minutes. But never saw one start to finish. Roger Moore was Bond when I grew up and I believe most thought he sucked, so I never watched them. No reason to start now.
wiffleball 4,686 Posted September 21, 2018 I do like that some of the Daniel Craig movies seemed at least a tad more realistic. I mean, until they started blowing up MI six and whatnot. Related, to this day, the Brits still have teams of officers with automatic weapons going up and down the Thames making sure nobody takes pictures of MI6. Hey, here's a thought. Maybe don't locate them in the middle of your biggest tourist attractions? On the banks of a fuking River? The most popular River with the most traffic in the entire United Kingdom? ? Maybe schedule a field day to Langley?
