Nike cancels American flag shoe after Kaepernick complains it’s racist

Recommended Posts

If you have at least one testicle you just can't buy their products anymore. It's too much.

I stopped buying their stuff after their first exploitative commercial with that former NFL QB-now a tool....

I just left the hardware store after buying a Betsy Ross flag that I plan on flying this holiday weekend and every day after that. I am proud to display anything that Kapernicks finds offensive and if it represents slavery then even better.

Me too. But for those conflicted , this has to be the last straw.

Why are democrats so hell bent on deleting their record of racism from history ?

At least they're consistant. You shouldn't sell both Kaepernick shoes and flag shoes.

Anyway, this family joins the RLLD family on a permanant/lifelong Nike boycott.

Seems like bad marketing strategy. Especially releasing the news that Kaepernick had something to do with it.  I'm sure their marketing team knows more than I do, so I guess we'll see. I guess they're counting on becoming THE brand of blacks/minorities and that will negate the loss of the Trumpian Republicans. Time will tell.

I wonder if Nike is aware that the 13% they are targeting steal more shoes than they purchase....

This seems like it was planned all along

Why go through with design and production of a patriotic shoe just to cancel it’s launch at the last minute?

Answer: Publicity

It’s not just Trumpian Republicans. It’s all normal Americans

I'm a 'normal American' and I agree that it's weird.  But I won't pass up on a pair of Nike's if that's the sneaker best suited to my needs. It's the Trumpians who would refuse to buy Nike's.

Because Kaepernick?

Kaepernick?

Kaepernick cancelled the shoe.

He's a failed NFL QB, now a failed human.     Yet he's calling the shots?

Normal Americans don’t support anti American agendas

i refuse to buy Nike’s there are plenty of other shoes out there. And I’m hardly a trumpian

It's an oversimplification, and a strange way to assess the situation.

I agree...  I don't by Nike's because I just don't like the way that they fit...

If you read my initial post, I agree that it seems like weird business model.  Not sure what's strange in saying that Nike is weighing the people who might gravitate more towards Nike (the actual athletes) against customers lost. I'm sure we can agree that those who would likely protest Nike would also be Trump supporters.

I support Trump because I'm a Republican, I don't support the Republican's because I'm a "Trumpian".  The Democrats are too far over the top.  I won't support them.  Hence, I will not support any agenda they promote.  This is one of them.  I will never buy a Nike product again.  It has nothing to do with Trump.  The reason why your statement is wrong, is if Ben Carson (not Trump), was the President, my stance would be the same.

Here's the thing.  The issue that most "normal" Democrats (and left leaning Independents), are missing, is that whomever won that 2016 election was going to get the same treatment that Trump is getting.  Why?  Because it's the same treatment that every Republican gets (from the Dems and MSM), it's just that you guys have short memories.

"Nike is an iconic American brand and American company.... ".  That just so happens to use Chinese and 3rd world country sweatshops to make their products.

We can also agree that those who would fight and die for this country most likely support Trump.

Which is ironic since he had his rich daddy pay a doctor to lie about bone spurs for the very reason of NOT defending our country.  But dolts like you still think he's a great American.

Unrelated to this issue, but I can't remember the last time I owned a pair of Nikes. It has to be well over 20 years. I'm a New Balance guy.
