The popularity of GOT was driven by women. They traditionally haven’t watched these types of shows in great numbers.

I was happy with the ending. Bronn taking over highgarden iced the cake.

Just started Better Call Saul. Super slow start but I like the feel of where it could go.

Me too! I’m trying to finish up season 1. So far it’s meh. I’m going to stick with it. It’s nice seeing old characters.

Yeah. I think I went through 2 episodes so far. At worst, it's entertaining and kind of unique.

It gets much better. I’m on S1 episode 9.

I always liked Bronn, Lord Baelish and Sir Davos.  Ramsay was by far the best villain.

I stumbled upon the show the night it premiered, having no idea what it was and Jon immediately became my favorite character. It sounds like a lame/obvious choice but I had no idea there were books and no idea of the overall importance of his character.

Davos is a good one too.

Not to be sexist but most of the female characters were trash. Except Nathalie Emmanuel

Arya was possibly the worst. The fact she killed the Night King still pisses me off.

Yeah Jon was great too and probably my favorite too, I just decided to say three others for that exact reason.

I liked Cersei, whoever portrayed her did a very good job.

Arya not even attempting to save The Hound pissed me off.

Cersei was played well. Lena Headley was probably the biggest name they had at the start of the show. She did an excellent job, I will agree.

What bothered me most about Arya was simply her storyline. She goes to Braavos to become a faceless person / assassin. By all accounts does a horrible job. Is able to defeat her nemesis there and comes back to Westeros..... where she is suddenly an amazing assassin killing people on her 'list' with ease. . Her storyline had nothing to do with the Night King. Jon, Bran, Daenerys... sure.... but Arya kills him? Awful.

Her story line was definitely the least interesting of all the main characters. I can't remember the guys name, but whoever ran the Faceless place, I liked that character in the early seasons and when she traveled to Braavos I was excited he was back in the show. But it never really got anymore interesting than that and I thought he'd play a bigger role in the ending. It was just that blonde girl beating the sh!t out of her while she was blind and then she left.

It was fine. That's about the best thing I can say about it. I was such a fan of the original that I'll keep watching, love the GoT setting\universe.

I’m in the middle of a GOT rewatch, but have not touched this yet. Is it any good?

Is it over or still going on? I prefer to wait for a series to play out so I can just watch it all

2nd season premier in a couple weeks.  It's going to go at least another couple years.

I have watched GoT thrice through, stopping 2 or 3 episodes before the last

Yes. They're setting up to be basically the same thing just a different time in the ASOIAF universe.

The first 5 seasons are amazing. Once I get into 6 I start getting bored. I could watch the scene where Joffrey dies over and over again 1000 times and still want more.

Similarly I love the "golden crown" moment in S1. 👑

I’m digging this season and think the show is focking awesome.

No, not as jaw-dropping incredible as the first few seasons of GoT. That true.

But far, far better than the last few seasons of GoT.

And it’s not even supposed to be GoT anyways. It is its own show, and a pretty darn good one at that

100% you're team black.

What do you mean it isn't supposed to be GoT? They are both based on different books in the same series.

I mean, if you just tried to copy GoT, obviously it wouldn’t be that good. So they’ve made HoD its own show

It basically is the same thing in a different time period. Instead of a war between the kingdoms it's a civil war between the Targaryens.

Also, what didn't you like about the last few seasons of GoT? The final two episodes of season 6 were the best in the entire show. Only the second half of the last season was bad because it was rushed, that's it. Overall still one of the best shows ever made and is miles better than HotD, which is a great show in itself. Probably just another Daenerys simp.

I’ll reiterate that I hate myself for not having the self control to not watch this. Fock George R.R. Martin for screwing over his book readers!

With that out of the way, I actually think this is a much better show than GoT. And although Matt Smith is hard to look at, his portrayal of Daemon has been brilliant. He can steal a scene just with a look on his face.

I’m not sure if the book that this series is based on is slated to have more written-if it does, then this will get focked over, too.

The dialogue just doesn’t cut it and the lead actresses are boring and not very good actors. Too much with the dream stuff. It’s been done to death. I don’t know, this show just doesn’t grab me. I liked the part wit the Oliver Tully kid. Also no humor. GOT had great humor. I’ll watch it hoping it stops being so bleak.

This next episode, the last of the season, better be epic. They've spent the last 3 episodes moving the chess pieces around without much happening.

Looks like you’ll be waiting until 2026 to find out? I have to wonder if the people that are making this show realize how bad of a job they are doing.  Watching this has been a waste.

The googly eyed gal looking for the big wild dragon is such a boring plot line.  Hopefully she gets eaten in S3E1

They really dropped the ball in S2. They got away from the source material.
