It's not hard to see the biases between the two.  A quick search on YouTube will show plenty of examples where the media has been biased towards Trump and Obama.  Don't have to pay attention during the actually Presidency.

I'm not sure what specific quote you're referencing, but that fact is usually brought up in response to Trump's "but I put the ban on China" line.   The virus itself is China's fault, but there is an argument that the majority of US cases originated from Europe, so "putting the ban on China" wasn't enough.

Then ban was put on Europe as well. American citizens, students studying abroad and the like could fly home. I don’t think anyone has a problem with that. But don’t let that get in the way when it can be claimed it wasn’t a complete ban. There is still a ban form many countries in Europe from flying here. You didn’t know this stuff?

The "Europe ban" was not until 3/11 (and for the first week did not include the UK and Ireland).

Again, it was delayed so Americans abroad could return home. There were limited flights. Should we have left them over there? Kids were studying abroad. People were on vacation and business. It’s ridiculous that you can’t see this. Whatever. Trump did the right thing. Deal with it.

I agree he did it sooner than any Democrat would have, but yeah, it probably needed to be earlier to do much.

I was mostly pointing out that “he put the ban on China” was one of his main talking points, however supposedly most of the cases came from Europe, and as you guys are admitting, we probably weren’t going to stop it from getting here anyway.

People who think Trump could have saved us are stupid.  I'm sorry but it's just stupid. This virus is massively contagious.  There is no way NO WAY we Trump could have prevented it or slowed it down from entering our country.  No chance.

North Korea, which is essentially locked down 24/7 has it.  Why are people so fundamentally dense when it comes to this?  Why do they think somehow, while the entire world is dealing with this, that some how Trump could have saved America if he acted differently.  This is the kind of thinking that makes me utterly hate liberals.  I can tolerate a lot of things, but when TDS creates this level of stupidity, I lose it.

Great post.. What people hate him most for is the masks.  They think his lack of emphatically endorsing masks has killed tens of thousands of people. Masks are the symbolic piece that tells others not to come for you and that you are doing your part to combat the virus.

I agree, he couldn’t have prevented it from getting here. So people saying “300k deaths are on Trump’s hands!” are idiots.  You could probably argue that he could have done some things a little differently that may have saved some of those lives (not just masks).    But probably just as many lives maybe more are on the hands of some of the democratic governors.

Well that's more stupid.  Look at California.  They have had a mask mandate for months and it's just getting worse.  I won't say masks don't help, I'll leave that to others here.  However people are in many cases not doing it.  And it ain't cause of Trump.  They just don't want to.  Trump isn't changing that just because he comes out and says everyone should.

Well for one it hasn’t really saved any yet, so I’m mostly talking about the lives lost thus far.

We don’t know for sure, but it’s possible the vaccines would have been developed similarly without Trump.  But yeah, some people don’t like to give Trump any credit for it and it probably wasn’t a coincidence that the effectiveness was announced right after the election.

I think the biggest thing is he probably could have helped the testing/tracing situation early on.   I think a big part of what caused that problem though was the CDC f’ed up, which can be indirectly blamed on Trump since it’s part of the federal government, but that particular piece of it is another thing that may have still happened with a different President (some may argue it wouldn’t have because “Trump cut funding!” but I’m not sure I believe that).
