Our Governor has already said there is no "green" status as we will likely never return to normal. And he keeps changing the rules. First city, then county, now region. If one specific city in your region is driving up ICU useage, doesn't matter...entire region closes down. The So Cal region is pretty big.

We have opened up a little, but places like restaurants are still at like 20 to 25% capacity; not much indoors. Some retail only allow a certain number of people in at a time. i just find it interesting because when I DO go out, mostly everyone is wearing masks...so I am convinced it's not necessarily a mask thing. Our hair salons, nail places are open. I've gotten my hair done a couple of times, but I haven't gotten a pedi, haven't gone out to dinner, I don't go to bars or clubs, etc 

It's a virus. It's going to go around. We will all get it sooner or later, IMO. 

Edited: My kids are also still distance learning. Not back in school until January, if even then.

What's wacky is California by far and away has the largest growth in new cases. 

It's fun when the state leaders can just stand in front of cameras and blame the populace for being naughty. YOU'RE not wearing your masks, so now we're going to shut down schools and kill restaurants.

Meanwhile I can't recall a time in the last 6 months when I went into a store and saw a single person not wearing a mask.

Same here, I see masks every where, it's been a LONG time since I've seen people with out them. 

I can't figure why we'd have such a rise in cases, either. Other than smaller gatherings; parties, holidays, etc. Or again...it's a virus. I know in the past, I've gotten sick (colds, flu, stomach flu) and not been in contact with anyone that was sick. Thinking this one works the same in terms of spread.

It's because people think masks are a panacea when they only reduce transmission by about 20%.  For some reason masks are always what gets debated.  It's really a small piece of the puzzle.

The funny thing is the single most important thing that was needed was fast tracking the vaccine, and Biden will have gotten that done his first day in office.  Is it too early to give him the Nobel Peace Prize?

Agree with this.  Ran into a classmate from HS and had a quick back and forth.  I brought up Biden's "victory" rallies in some way.  She basically said well you see all those people wearing masks.  And masks are proven to help a lot.

Ehhh....Im of the idea that the more you pump mask=good the more you have people think they can do whatever as long as they have a mask.  Have seen videos of people shouting into a person face over putting a mask at a store.  Its insane.  They will get 1 goot from you but think if you dont have a mask you are a threat.  Bonkers.   There are people dumb enough that are wearing masks during an after bar hookup and think they are being safe.  Not all.  But many think masks are unstoppable.

He will say what Trump said a little louder.  Vaccine that Trump sped up comes.  Winter comes to an end.  Cases go down.  Biden claim he beat the virus.

And then on top of that, you have to wear a mask that fits tightly around your face, which most don't.  Also, even with masks on, you should quarantine after being around someone less than 6 ft for 15 minutes.  Cloth face coverings are a bureaucrats way to say "hey at least were doing something".  Now, its gotten cult like with people being assaulted and members of the MSM saying "WE MUST NOT FORGET WHO THE DENIERS ARE"!
