My guess is that some kind of event is supposed to take place somewhere after the 12th, but before the 21st.  My first thought was the NCAA Tournament.  There's a first round regional up there on the 17th and 19th... but that's in Portland.  Nothing in Washington .  The women however are supposed to be in Spokane, but that's not until the 25th.  Now, the first and second rounds have venues to be announced for the weekend of the 16th through the 20th.  It's possible that there could be games played in WA during that time... which falls dead smack between those dates.  Just a guess.

Not so much tv, but incoming revenue from the outside.  I have no doubt that ANY politician, not just Democrat's, would do that.  It's always about the money.  Remember, NY allowed the first session of the Big East tournament to play, even though every other conference tournament had already been postponed back in 2020.

Even more of a reason the school probably made them.  I highly doubt that parents in Florida would force their kids to wear them.  If they did, then it's clear they had an agenda for forcing the kids to wear them knowing the governor was going to be there.  There's about a 1% chance the kids actively wore their masks because THEY wanted too.  I'm taking the over.

If they really took it seriously, you could buy PPE that is actually effective for a few hundred bucks.  No they're just doing what they're told.  I mean unless they're too stupid to understand a ventilation hood would be more effective than a mask.

I’m sure some of them don’t want to wear them, but did because their parents told them.  And thought Desantis saying it made it ok to take them off.  Like this kid (although he clearly didn’t feel “pressured” despite his mom making him say that with her death stare):

Your occasional reminder that Florida's covid death reporting is delayed.  Their peak of deaths during the "mild" Omicron wave now show as higher than during winter 2020/2021.  So much for all that herd immunity they got during Delta.
