I posted an article a while back about a group 20 or so conservatives that went to defend stores vs rioters. The sheriffs dept said "hey guys, we've got this.  we ask that you go home"  ...and they went home.

What if the police aren't there? 

Who wins? Guys with bottles and chairs or guys with AR-15's?  How many guys with bottles and chairs does it take, to take out 20 guys with AR-15's ? 

Anyone have a guess on that number? Keep in mind, that number would be reduced by about 50 every 5-10 seconds.

You need to relax. I'm at work right now. Slacking off, but getting ready to start my day and be here all damn day. I'm not at home "teleworking" getting all riled up by the news. People protest all the time. Heck, when I tried to look up the Seattle riot I got pictures from 1999. It's how this country was founded, by riots and rebellions. This is what I think:

We need the police. The police are good people overall and I respect them. We need to change some protocols so that innocent people (especially black men who may be mistaken for criminals) aren't left dead during police interactions.

I think protests are good and I think rioting and looting gets attention.

I think rioting and looting by blacks reinforces negative stereotypes.

I think destroying property in black neighborhoods prevents businesses and people from ever wanting to live or open businesses with us again.

I think there should be a really big discussion about the reality of black criminality and black fatherlessness and how it affects neighborhoods and the education of our children.

People are racist or biased or favor one group over another. We all need to work on being less racist and understand how it affects society and how it perpetuates itself in ways that are so subtle they go unnoticed by all except those are affected by it.

I have had a good life and I don't feel oppressed. The only racism I deal with is here. Well, that's a lie, but overall, the racism I experience with isn't overwhelming (microaggressions).

A microaggression I experience is when in a group (say deli or fish counter) a white patron is usually picked over me even when I was first. When I enter a store, the sales people will often not say hello but always say hello to white customers entering. People usually address any white face before addressing me when in a business situation even though I'm usually the most senior.

It is true there is a terrorist element growing in this nation. I hold out hope that at some point the National Guard will be called in to quell the attacks on our nation. For now, there seems to be a restraint to allow them to burn, pillage, take over.  It's heartbreaking and disturbing.  I am likely insulated from it, but so many are not.  There is a domestic terrorist insurgency in flight, we can no longer ignore it.

I believe that good people should be protected and are entitled to a peaceful existence. There are many more good people in the inner city black and minority communities than bad. And I know from experience that they are going to be the ones who suffer when the cameras and the politicians leave town. This just isnt happening the way it is being painted by the MSM.  To say this is happening in epidemic proportions is absolutely false.  Remember, BLM is heavily rooted in Ferguson in 2014 when Michael Brown was killed.  The "hands up dont shoot' narrative has been debunked and the cop was cleared by the DOJ led by Eric Holder.

In theory I agree with you.  My only concern is they will will run to the Feds asking for money to rebuild, like states are doing for Covid to the point of trying to get the feds to cover their unfunded pension liabilities they haven't been covering.
