I've never agreed with much of what she says or does, but this is beyond stupid.  I admitted it in a thread long ago, but I failed as a parent with this one.  

Both of my daughters (21 and 18) have gone to protests; the younger has completely drunk the koolaid.  She knows no data so you can't have a logical discussion with her.  She'll say stuff like "defund the police doesn't mean to defund the police."  Apparently she holds an ACAB sign at the protests which I find extremely disappointing, but she says "it doesn't mean ALL cops are biotches, it refers to the systemic racism in the police."  Sigh... There is a part of me that is actually a little happy that she is taking interest in political issues, because a few weeks ago she couldn't have cared less.  I presume she'll vote dem without realizing that the common theme in all of these troubled cities is dem leadership.  Oh well, hopefully she'll grow up some day.

It is okay, Jerry. They don’t know as much as they think they do. They don’t pay taxes and the people they are around influence them more than we do.

I have the opposite issue. I have a 16 year old boy who has no clue about race. He and his friends drop the N-bomb without any idea as to history. No idea about the past or things outside their world. Just one example.
 

All we can do is talk to them and, sometimes more importantly, listen to them. Maybe we learn from each other along the way. It is a complex issue with lots of tentacles, so it won’t be solved in your house, but it may just start there.

 The problem is everything is so escalated there's no backing down.
