Oh right, because Seattle is filled with black people.

It's filled with Democrats, they're worse than any black person.

Over 90% of Black voters vote Democratic, how does that work?

Voter suppression. Conservative black voter suppression.

This will get messy, that is true, there is no unicorn solution here.

I submit that often, people need a reality check, and the outcomes of liberal policies as being used here, need to harm a certain amount before a successful "fight back" can emerge. The normal people with good education, common sense and behaviors need to reach a point, and once that happens the pendulum should swing....

Yup I keep saying let the cities give in. It's going to take a little more for people to wake up.

Many of my liberal friends are mad at a picture more than the people murdered or beaten to an inch of their life. They need a wake up, the people they support do not support them.

I should have specified "white" Democrats.  My bad.

A huge step forward would be School Choice. The Republicans have been pushing this for decades but the Dems are in the back pocket of the teachers union.

Thats what people dont get.  When you call out stupid Dem policies, its racist!  When actually, most conservatives can separate the person from the policy.  I dont remember who said it here the other day, but they would gladly take 9 conservative black women on the SCOTUS over 9 liberal white men. Please tell me how thats raciss?

Nope. Window dressing.  Make them send their kids to public school. Things will change real fast.

I'm cool with school of choice within the same district. I don't like bussing in kids from terrible schools because they just make the good school bad.

Let's test this theory.  Go to a Firehouse Sub's shop and let me know if they greet you when you walk in.

No, I mean clothing boutiques, not fast food restaurants.

Like once I while waiting to be seated at a Mexican restaurant that is always full, I went to order a pitcher of margarita. It was very crowded and the Mexican female bartender kept picking the white people over me. I didn't want to be rude so I kept waiting because it was really crowded and I thought maybe I should just be more aggressive the next time it was a turn, but nope, she kept choosing the white guys. Anyway, finally a white guy pointed out that I was first. I was so grateful.

Little things like that matter. If you know it's not your turn, don't take it anyway, especially if you're stepping over a person of color. Even if it's a person of color that is choosing you to be served first. Do the right thing.

I've never agreed with much of what she says or does, but this is beyond stupid.  I admitted it in a thread long ago, but I failed as a parent with this one.

I'm rather proud of your daughter. I appreciate the tenacity of the younger generation. I am glad they are fiercely speaking their minds. Don't squash her voice.

Except it was daytime, it was a family type restaurant, not a dive bar. I'm not very dark and that wasn't funny, just racist.

My daughter is a very good kid, very smart, and gets excellent grades but she is liberal.  Our city had a protest scheduled for last Sunday and she asked me if she could go.  I said hell no but had she persisted I would have let her.  This is a safe middle-class town and the chance of looting and rioting were non-existent.  The liberals have already won imo.  They have these kids' brains from kindergarten on.  Trump is but an anomaly.

And this is where Black America loses the majority of people. (Why did you exclude White People?) They don’t want color to matter but they exclude and include people of a certain color on a regular basis. No one should step over anyone, end of story.
Why does it have to be BLM and not ALM? That is extremely Racist! Why is it racist to say All Lives Matter?

BTW: Black Americans are notorious for stepping over people. If you were White you would get it.

Remember when Ammon Bundy and some of his friends took over an empty Wildlife Refuge in middle of nowhere Oregon and the bored lefties were clutching their pearls and hoping the government would go in guns a blazin' and remove the trouble makers?

They seem strangely quiet about this.

Why do anything right now?

These localities are currently bastions of liberal voters.  There is FAR more strategic value in allowing these Democrats to allow the terrorists to rape these cites.  If you are a moderate liberal and you see your "leaders" just sitting back while this happens, voting for them or for a democratic president becomes less palatable.

No, I say let the Democrats destroy these cities.  The good people will leave, lowering the impact of city voting blocks on elections, this is a good move.

Exactly.   Trump goes in the Mayor gets both problems solved.  He gets his area back but sides with the terrorists.  MSM says Trump unleashes military on peaceful protestors.  The libs win PR battle again.  Let them sort out their own mess, or not.

Yeah. Good points by you both. I've thought about this before how the left is attacking Trump on both sides of things. Lose-lose situation for Trump. He has been right in saying that the governors and state "leaders" need to handle their own states. He's a smart dude.

I hope you at least said something to her how pathetic she is behaving.  If these were a bunch of right-wingers doing this she would be out of her mind with rage.

How old is she?

Her voice is one thing, her idiotic statement is another.

If my biz gets looted, should I shrug and say, “That was a reasonable response to the system.”    What system exactly?

I’m not anywhere near Minneapolis, and don’t participate in any system linked to that police department.

And it wasn’t a system that killed that repeat felon.   It was one lone cop.

They're a cult. Cults normally end up getting killed by others, or by killing themselves. And their overlords living far away in safe areas will end up nodding their heads thinking they did their job. Next project...

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/11/media/seattle-antifa-protest-trump/index.html

CNN has no ability to support this so they have to outright DENY that it is happening.  I don't know how long CNN can do that.

First the headline of the CNN article claims "right wing" media says protesters took over city hall. Then as they try to non-report on the story,  CNN admits the group took over 6 blocks of downtown Seattle.  But because someone said this was Antifa, now CNN basically denies the entire story as best they can.  Most of the article focuses on saying this is not Antifa.  So, its OK that city hall got took over and 6 blocks are overrun because its not Antifa oh and the right wing are liars liars liars liars liars liiiiiiiiiiiiiars!  These people are into music, dancing, and a movie screening.  Oh and some people were shown armed with guns but who cares its peaceful and Trump is a liar!

Right-wing media says Antifa militants have seized part of Seattle. Local authorities say otherwise
By Oliver Darcy, CNN Business
Updated 5:54 PM ET, Thu June 11, 2020

New York (CNN)Armed militant activists with the group Antifa have seized a sizable section of Seattle and are plotting to expand their territory — all as the local police surrender to them and evacuate a local precinct.

Or so the story goes if you've relied on right-wing media for your news this week.

"You have now talk about armed volunteers of Antifa to guard their cop-free zone and taken over precincts," Fox News host Sean Hannity told viewers Wednesday night on his television show, the highest-rated program on cable news.

It is true that demonstrators have occupied a small, six-square block section of Seattle and designated it an "autonomous zone." And it is true that, after clashes with police, a precinct was boarded up and evacuated in an attempt to deescalate the situation.

But claims that bands of militant Antifa members are roving the Seattle streets appear to be grossly exaggerated in right-wing media. In fact, according to the Seattle mayor's office, city officials haven't seen any evidence to indicate armed members of Antifa are even on the ground.

"City officials have not interacted with 'armed antifa militants' at this site, but will continue to be on site to monitor the situation closely," Lori Patrick, a spokesperson for the Seattle mayor, told CNN Wednesday night.
Patrick said that police had heard reports of "armed individuals at demonstrations" on Monday night. But it was unclear what their affiliation was. In Washington state, it is legal to openly carry a gun.

"In the days since," Patrick said, "city employees, including representatives from the mayor's office, the Seattle fire chief, and our first responders have been on site continuously with unimpeded access working with organizers to ensure the area is safe for peaceful demonstrations, and that those who gathered have access to hygiene and sanitation services."

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee described the scene on Thursday as "unpermitted," but "largely peaceful."

School choice may not go as well as you think. Being able to move to a place that doesn't bus in troubled kids is important. It would suck to pick a good district ahead of time, and then it turns to shlt because a bunch of families from poor neighborhoods found out where the good public schools at

That's not what would happen.  If things get out of hand and they do major destruction to downtown Seattle, the media will actually blame Trump for NOT stepping in and call him weak.  They will also argue that most of the destruction was done by alt right people trying to frame peaceful protesters.  So they will protect BLM and attack Trump for not provide a place to peacefully protest.

Because it's middle class. The general area is middle class to upper middle class. No section 8 or much cheap housing around the area.
