Nothing. Neither were Senators in 2000

My assumption was that @Mike Honcho meant 2020, not 2000.  I'm also guessing that he's probably right.

Ok. I’ll accept that. Never mind.

I thought so but it's hard to tell with him.  But the SC Court vacating a decision to the states doesn't make anything into anything else.  The states are now free to decide and even change their mind.

No, it was the level of awareness of an obscure federal law that Strike decided was worth taking a shot at a former lawyer for not knowing it. I offered no opinion on the law or what is happening now or in the past that caused the establishment of that law. So lighten up Francis.

1)  Worms is a former lawyer now?  Not that I believe he was EVER a lawyer, but when did he announce he had quit his fake lawyering?

2)  The list of laws in this country is long.  Noone knows all of them.  Which is a good reason for a person, especially one who asserts that they're a lawyer, to NOT make false statements without verifying.  Which is something Worms does a lot.  I have no issue if he doesn't know that the law exists.  I have a problem with him saying it's not illegal to protest at a judge's house when it clearly is.

3)  Worms says I'm right "this time."  No, I'm right EVERY time I correct him.  Which is way too often.

Those states seem like they already decided (I actually think it's 13, not 22 if I'm reading correctly that have the "trigger" laws).  You think they will change their mind?

What's happening to this country?

Pro-choicers picket Pelosi's house, claim Democrats are 'complicit' in potential overhaul of Roe v. Wade

A small group of pro-choice protesters picketed in front of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco residence, condemning Pelosi and her party as "complicit" in the potential reversal of Roe v. Wade (1973), after a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion suggested the Court is on the verge of striking down the abortion preceden.

"We are here because the Democratic Party and the Democrats as a whole have been complicit in this whole thing," a female protester shouted in a bullhorn.

She and others lined up behind a banner reading "abortion on demand and without apology!" They also carried signs with the faces of the five Republican-appointed Court justices who reportedly supported the draft opinion, with the word "LIAR" over their heads.

She explicitly declared her intention to pressure the Court not to go through with the opinion.

1.  I thought we had one former lawyer here, and I thought it was worms, but I might be wrong.

2. Sorry,  unless you we paid for his advice, a lawyer spouting off the cuff about laws in a general sense---1st amendment, political protesting yada yada yada...isn't a big deal.  You corrected him, he looked it up and agreed you were right.  I do find  it hard to believe you have a problem with people being wrong when I see tons of misinformation posted here everyday that you don't correct.  Want to guess the political ideology of the people who you give a pass?

3. I'm not keeping score, but good for you.

Fine. Why do you think it’s not being enforced?

I don't know---it's clearly illegal and Garland should be enforcing it. President Biden should be calling justice everyday and asking why isn't it being enforced or do an LBJ and send the National Guard to their houses and remove them.

Are you a former lawyer or still a lawyer?  Not judging but just wondering; if you had left the law I hadn't realized it.  What are you doing these days?

Ah yeah, that makes sense, thanks.  Hopefully he still has his kidneys.  Since he was a big guy and married a filipina, I like to think he is sitting on a throne somewhere being worshiped as a giant god.

Everyone also knows you can’t categorically ban picketing and protesting. Ever heard of the First Amendment? Remember you guys were unqualified 1A supporters just ten days ago?

Dude, in college I was playing music to loudly at a party in a neighborhood and the POLICE knocked on my door and demanded I turn it down as it was a public nuisance.   Also most times in order to gather and protest you may have to get a permit to do so in certain places......

You also shouldn't and its not's protected to yell FIRE in a crowded theatre.  OR stand in front of an Elementary school with pornographic images on posters yelling stuff.

Stop being coy.

The second amendment doesn't mean I can legally own grenades and a functional tank.  Just when you were growing on me......fock.

You won’t say it, but you know if some 2a groups did this to a liberal justice that did away with some gun rights you would be stomping your foot and steam would be coming out of your ears. The howling of the “end of democracy” would echo throughout the land. And their would be tactical humvees on those streets and the jail cells would be bursting. You know it. And AOC would claim PTSD.

Worms thinks that the first amendment means including disturbing the peace, harassment, and intimidating federal judges. Along with whatever focking mess they leave behind. :dunno:

No I’m actually pro 2A. I do wonder if we should amend the constitution to delete it, but until then it’s there and its meaning is clear.

you do know you can't protest or picket judges or courthouses

which makes me wonder why they allow people on death row to be picketed
