If You Could Swap….

Recommended Posts

A musician/ actor that died too young for one that hung around too long, who would it be? For Example, I would swap Tom Petty  for Neil Young. Neil Young peaked a long time ago, but Petty would have made great music for years to come. I’d also make Madonna dead and Whitney Houston alive.

I would bring back Marley, John Denver, Dolores O’Riordan, Prince and Layne Staley.

Buddy Holly for Courtney Love.

Lets not get crazy here...Courtney in her prime had some good songs, imo.

Jim Croce for Paul Simon

I have a few of Croce's songs in my playlist and just today found out he died really young.  I wouldn't want to be deprived of Simon, but yeah, it's tragic we didn't get to hear him make more music.

I find it weird in a time when everyone it seems is remaking songs from the past, Croce seems to be ignored.  The other day I heard Luke Combs do a version of Tracy Chapmans Fast Car. Uh, no.

His type of music isn't something I normally would search for, so maybe that's why I've missed it all this time. But in the last 10 years it seems film makers are rediscovering him and that's how I've been introduced to him. Guessing since you'd whack Paul Simon for him, maybe I'll do a deeper dig and give rest of his catalogue a listen.

Yeah.  Some songs should be left alone. That’s her song from her perspective, feels very personal to her. Seems like he was trying to score points.
