One I really enjoyed in the summer back in the day was a tomato sandwich on plain old American white bread with miracle whip.

The tomatoes came out of the garden. Just a little bit of salt and pepper and you were good to go. Dang, that was mighty tasty.

I think anything involving the word underrated probably has to include the word spam as well. At least here in the states. Fried spam with ketchup on toasted white bread. Pretty much defined our fishing trips.

Back in the day, really enjoyed braunschweiger and good mustard and pickles. I don't know if my taste changed or if it varied by brand, But the last time I had it, just wasn't good.

This is the one sammich that if I see it on the menu, I just stop reading, put the menu down, and know what I'm getting.

My only real memory of Bennigans was getting into an accident at a street corner, my car hurtling at a Bennigans, and I managed to stop it about 10 feet from the window.  The customers at that table had quite a look on their faces.  :D

I had to look, they don't exist here anymore.  Or else I'd go test your hypothesis.
