Being on time

Recommended Posts

If you’ve been invited to a wedding that starts at 5 pm, what time should you arrive? What time would you be there in order to avoid being late?

You get there when you get there. No one cares unless you have to stand next to them when they make the mistake.

I hate racists

I think hating races for who they are is not racist. You simply hate their culture.

Weddings rarely start on time. That said, if the invitation says 5:00, 4:45 is prolly a good time to get seated.

The reason most weddings don't start on time is because they are waiting for self important asshoIes to get there.

Please give me the time you’d arrive if you were invited to a 5 pm wedding.

Probably 15-20 minutes early.

Kinda depends on the people and circumstances though. With a couple of my friends they meant the ceremony would be right at 5 and then you’d quickly proceed to get focked up, so in that circumstance I might be there a half hour early or more if the bar was already open

I just want to be early and not late for certain events.

I’d probably arrive around 4:15-4:30 if I know a good amount of attendees.  Park, and quick hellos.

if I do not know many people, I would try to be seated by 4:45

General rule: 15 minutes early is "on time" for events.

Unless it's a surprise party and you're delivering the guest of honor. In that case, 15 minutes late is recommended.

Why is this even a question?

If you show up when the bride is about to walk down the isle, you done focked up.

4:50 if it's a smaller wedding and seating is plentiful.  4:30 if it's a big wedding.

Late if it’s no one close. The reception is not the time to be late.

 How old are you?

You’re actually saying you need help determining when to arrive at an event with a scheduled start time?

I'd probably target 4:30, with the intention of actually getting there by 4:45.  I'm notoriously late, largely because there is always one more PITA thing I need to do with my laryngectomy, at least that is my excuse.  But as others have pointed out, you don't want to show up as the bride is heading down the aisle.

So you are saying you can't manage time.
