I feel like I remember the helicopter taking Nixon after his resignation. That was 1974, so I was 7.

I remember getting to college one day and hearing that the Space Shuttle had blown up.  Then watched it on the news a bunch of times in the student union.

If you mean the Challenger crash that’s mine too, and you’re old.

I recall 1968 Mexico City Olympics shooting, I recall seeing it, but at that time and age not really understanding it.

And the 1972 Summer games in Munich, I remember this just being a very scary situation for me, I did understand what happen, but I couldn’t believe that something like that could happen, and why.

I looked back at the timeline, and some early impressions I had were:

January 12, 1986 - Challenger Explosion

June 12, 1987 - Ronald Reagan address at the Brandenburg Gate

The first Iraq war.

Nowadays it feels like one historical event after another.

I definitely remember that. My mom was crying and saying, "Those damned Democrats."

My first one would be the first moon walk.

I remember seeing Vietnam footage on the news and was worried I'd eventually be drafted to go there.

At that time, it seemed like every generation of Americans had gone off to war at some point.

Upon further review, I remember the black power salute at the 1968 Olympics.

I remember thinking they were a bunch of jerks for doing that.

The first thing that comes to mind is Elvis dying. Remember seeing stuff about Vietnam and Watergate but didn't really comprehend what that were at the time. My mom dug Elvis though so definitely that stands out.
