We had quite a little hot streak last summer so I was out there mowing the yard at dusk, about 8:00 PM. I bet some folks didn't like it but I reckon they understood the rationale

I wonder if there is an ordinance here. Given the gawd-awful heat I've heard some workers (roofers, lawn) start at 6AM. Usually on weekends it seems like 7AM is the earliest. Not sure if that is a rule or people just being somewhat polite to their neighbors.

 

We are a very early to bed/early to rise place though, because of the heat. 7AM here is kinda like 9AM on the east coast.

This is when I cut. I'll weed eed first and then mow. I know my lawn like I know my Johnson so I can cut it in the dark.

Well I don't literally mow the lawn in the dark. Perhaps "sunset" would've been a better term than dusk

It's Fawking hot here so I do it then. And I don't feel guilty drinking beer doing it then as I would if I did it in the morning.

Live in West Michigan...about as far as the Eastern Time Zone goes, in the summer it doesn't get dark some days until 9:00, 9:15, I'll mow until 8:45 some nights.

This is exactly what I do. You get a lot more exercise with old school push mowers.

I have a battery powered green works mower. It is pretty nice: quiet, light, cuts well, and the batteries hold a good charge.

 

I got a battery powered mower and weedeater for maintenance reasons. No oil to change or yearly maintenance. Push a button and go.

I find time at any given point to drink. However....I do have obstacles. Those obstacles are standards based on conscious. I don't drink when working or when needed to do work. Or before sh!theads who have a problem with their neighbor cranking up the small engine and judging my behavior based on a timetable centered on their analisities about time and whatnot.

I also try to finish by 6:00 pm. Nobody wants to hear that when sitting down for dinner. I only wish the hired landscapers in the neighborhood were as considerate.
