shotsup 832 Posted April 20, 2014 By my county ordinances 7 AM is OK. If my neighbor mowed lawn on Sunday at 7AM I would strangle him 9 AM is ok.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted April 20, 2014 9AM is definitely fair game. 7 gets you shot. 8 gets the sprinklers pointed at your yard while you are mowing.
shotsup 832 Posted April 20, 2014 Sanitation pickup starts at 7 AM and those trucks are loud as hell. All hell breaks loose after
IGotWorms 4,057 Posted April 20, 2014 9:00 is fair. I'd say maybe even 8:30
IGotWorms 4,057 Posted April 20, 2014 To piggyback on the question: when is it too late to mow the lawn? We had quite a little hot streak last summer so I was out there mowing the yard at dusk, about 8:00 PM. I bet some folks didn't like it but I reckon they understood the rationale
jerryskids 6,708 Posted April 20, 2014 I wonder if there is an ordinance here. Given the gawd-awful heat I've heard some workers (roofers, lawn) start at 6AM. Usually on weekends it seems like 7AM is the earliest. Not sure if that is a rule or people just being somewhat polite to their neighbors. We are a very early to bed/early to rise place though, because of the heat. 7AM here is kinda like 9AM on the east coast.

I'll weed eed first and then mow. I know my lawn like I know my Johnson so I can cut it in the dark. I mowed the wifey a lawn and painted the fence at 8:00. And I don't feel guilty drinking beer doing it then as I would if I did it in the morning.
Phurfur 70 Posted April 20, 2014 You should be using a push or an electric mower and then time of day would not be a problem. Don't any of you care about your carbon foot print? The government is about to suck hundreds of billions of dollars out of our economy to combat it so get with it!
Drizzay 713 Posted April 20, 2014 If you use a non-motorized mower, you don't have to worry about noise. HTH

MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted April 21, 2014 I have a battery powered green works mower. It is pretty nice: quiet, light, cuts well, and the batteries hold a good charge. I got a battery powered mower and weedeater for maintenance reasons. No oil to change or yearly maintenance. Push a button and go.
shotsup 832 Posted April 21, 2014 I pay Guido. I don't care what time he takes care of it. He only hires Italians. Now that I think of it I already posted this. Too drilynk to to look or even care.

BunnysBastatrds 2,408 Posted April 21, 2014 Wait, you feel guilty drinking at any time??? I find time at any given point to drink. However....I do have obstacles. Those obstacles are standards based on conscious. I don't drink when working or when needed to do work. Or before sh!theads who have a problem with their neighbor cranking up the small engine and judging my behavior based on a timetable centered on their analisities about time and whatnot. patweisers44 840 Posted April 21, 2014 I have a job and i have messicans that cut my grass. Not sure what time is too early for them. I am sure the law of lazy messican landscapers sleeping in trumps any city or county ordinances.
montana 89 Posted April 21, 2014 9am seems pretty standard. On extremely hot & humid days here in the Carolina's, 8am isn't uncommon....we're talkin 90+ in temp AND humidity %.

Cruzer 1,995 Posted April 21, 2014 7 a.m. is fine by me. If my neighbor wants to start that early too - great, rather have that than somebody who doesn't keep up their yard.
GobbleDog 990 Posted April 22, 2014 8am during the week 9am on the weekends Agreed. People are sleeping off benders on the weekend. Gotta start a little later. I also try to finish by 6:00 pm. Nobody wants to hear that when sitting down for dinner. I only wish the hired landscapers in the neighborhood were as considerate.

Cruzer 1,995 Posted April 23, 2014 I think the messicans charge extra to come earlier Messcans enjoy their weekends as much as the 3rd Reich'ers - they'd rather start at first light if possible.
