Colin Kaepernick says he's still training, pushing to make NFL comeback despite not playing for past 7 years

4 hrs ago • 1 min read

It has been over seven years since quarterback Colin Kaepernick took a snap in the NFL, but that hasn't changed his mind about a potential comeback. Recently, the 36-year-old told Sky Sports that he's still hoping for a return to the league.

"We're still training, still pushing," Kappy said when asked if we will see him in the NFL again. "So hopefully, we've just got to get one of these team owners to open up."

Kappy was then asked what it would mean to him to play in the NFL again.

"I mean, it's something I've trained my whole life for," Kappy said. "So to be able to step back on the field, I think that would be a major moment, a major accomplishment for me. Also, I think it's something that I could bring a lot to a team and help them win a championship."

Kappy had a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders in May 2022, which came after a very public workout at halftime of Michigan's spring game, where he threw in front of Wolverine fans and his former head coach Jim Harbaugh. The workout was broadcasted live on the Big Ten Network.

The former second-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers went 12-4 in his first full season as starter back in 2013, and led the 49ers to Super Bowl XLVII, where they fell to the Baltimore Ravens. Kaepernick set an NFL postseason record that year by rushing for 181 yards and two touchdowns in the divisional-round victory against the Green Bay Packers.

The 49ers struggled in Kaepernick's final three seasons, and he lost 10 out of his final 11 starts with the team. Overall, Kaepernick went 28-30 as the starter during his time in San Francisco, throwing 72 touchdowns compared to 30 interceptions in 69 career games played. Squistion still holds out hope.

It's been almost a decade and you racists still don't understand that he was protesting against police brutality, that is still a problem.

He didn't read the room well.  That's on him.  He could have done it a million different ways.  He decided to make a spectacle of himself, and he paid for it.  Actions have consequences.   Good lesson for his kids if he has any.  He's 36, been out of the league for 7 years.  Even a good QB is looking at being cut at 36 years old.  He's done in the NFL.

Standing up for what’s right can cause one to lose.  Sad isn’t it.

Protesting police brutality, that is still a problem. I'll tell you what IS STILL A PROBLEM.....BLACK ON BLACK BRUTALITY. IT'S A MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM....BY ORDER OF MAGNITUDE. Don't see him out in the hood, trying to save lives. I don't bemoan anyone fighting for a cause. He got too political in an arena(literally) that was a poor choice. We just want to watch football...that's it....to escape the grind for a few hours. He decided to invade that holy place. It's not always the message.....it's often the delivery. You can't alienate potential suitors....you need to make alies....he didn't. There were many ways he could have chosen....he chose poorly. But the biggest thing you are missing....and I know you are missing it because you threw out "racists".....is the fact that he absolutely sucked as a qb. So to sum up.....a bad qb chose his workplace to soapbox an exaggerated issue & it pissed off everyone in the building. Instead of learning anything...like for instance BLACK ON BLACK CRIME is a much bigger problem & use his notoriety to address that...he chose to continue on his path. Quit blaming everything on racism.......makes you sound racist.

He lost his job because he sucked, he then proceeded to protest while being not talented enough to keep his starting job.

Nobody needs that headache from a backup.

He can protest all he wants now, he gets a fat paycheck from Nike and some team doesn't have to virtue signal by rostering a player who can't cut it.

Win\Win.

:dunno:

Gotta love the wokies.

9 unarmed people die at the hands of police per year.  The vast majority while involved in some crime.  Definitely need to protest that.

Palestine kills 8 Americans that were doing nothing wrong, but we're supposed to love Palestine.

Remember now, the 1st week started by him sulking because he wasn’t starting. Kappy was fast on his feet to morph this into a protest

And they get the LGBTQ people on board . The Palestinians would get rid of them without a 2nd thought.

We should all kneel until we get Postal safety.  89 people died in 4 years due to postal drivers disregard for public safety.

That's over twice the number of unarmed citizens killed by police while committing crimes that we are so upset about.

We're being hunted!

You know what would solve this? DEI.  Making skin color the top qualification is what will improve safety.  Boeing is already doing it.

Thinking weepaws is not a unique alias.  Thinking it's one of many.
