Movies That The First Half Is Great And The Second..Meh

Recommended Posts

Yeah, that was literally like two different movies.

A great movie, and a pretty good movie, in fairness.

Training Day

Denzel should have been a good cop that had to do some bad things, not that he was an all around bad cop.

Years on the force should have made him so street wise that he was able safely walk that fine line between being a good bad cop vs being a bad ass bad cop.

The movie was filled with too many typical negative stereotypes to be entertaining.

Heat--- Could've been in my personal Top 10 but they blew the last 1/4 of the movie.

Full Metal Jacket.

Agree. It's not that the second half was bad, it's that the first half was incredible. Apocalypse Now fits in this category as well

When going through basic I always wished they either made a movie following different people through basic or made another movie besides FMJ about military basic training.

Inglourious Basterds

I thought it was Quentin Tarantino's best movie ever until the end (spoiler alert) ... all the top Nazi's including Hitler are burned to death in a movie theater ??? WTF? I understand using a genre to make a movie, but completely re-writing history is ridiculous.

Might as well make a 9/11 movie, but the passengers overtake the terrorists at the end and land safely.

Wrong! :nono:

Kubric designed the movie as a three act story. Training, Joker as reporter, and the fight with the sniper at the end.

But, yeah, definetely completely different feels from act to act.

Wedding Crashers. It had some good moments in the beginning, but really sucked after that.

Josey Wales is another. Everything after "Dyin' ain't much of a livin', boy." is pretty forgettable.

True but I still like: "Dying ain't hard for men like you and me. It's living that's hard when all you've ever cared about has been butchered or raped."
