Brad GLuckman 519 Posted January 19, 2017 The Wire, yes, focking awesome show. When that show ended it made me feel a certain way that no other show had previously done. The characters, the story lines, everything was perfect. Is the wire always slow like the first 5 or 6 episodes? I feel like they're building up to something but it's so slow
frank 2,307 Posted January 19, 2017 Wow. If you don't like Seinfeld or curb your enthusiasm, I just don't know what to say. Two of the best comedies ever. They are pretty much the same show though.

It was said in this thread and I have said it before. I don't like whiny Jew humor. Easy as that. I cringe every time Larry David opens his Jew mouth to whine about something irrelevant

iam90sbaby 2,618 Posted January 19, 2017 Is the wire always slow like the first 5 or 6 episodes? I feel like they're building up to something but it's so slow No it isn't, but it is hard to pinpoint exactly when the show does pick up. I found it to be slow at first then all of a sudden I couldn't get enough, once all the back stories and what not were laid out. It is very in depth and hard to follow. But if you can catch 90% of what's going on, it is one of the great shows ever made. And Jimmy McNulty is one of the great characters of all time. He is such a relatable character. IGotWorms 4,058 Posted January 19, 2017 See above I don't get it. It's not like the shows focus on being a Jew. I agree it's annoyingly when they do that. But in Seinfeld there was hardly any reference ever? There's more in Curb but it's usually just a prop for a joke

wiffleball 4,790 Posted February 8, 2017 I don't get it. It's not like the shows focus on being a Jew. I agree it's annoyingly when they do that. But in Seinfeld there was hardly any reference ever? There's more in Curb but it's usually just a prop for a joke All of the parental Figures were over the top annoyingly Jewish. George was annoying as all s*** In most episodes And most people would punch him in the face rather than let him into their apartment. What did you think the whole anti-dentite episode was about? It took until syndication for me To finally come around and appreciate some of the humor, But any episode that had any of the parents Forget about it. I don't want to hear people screaming at each other whether they're blacks or Jews Or Protestants or anything else. I just don't find Over-the-top caricatures To be that funny. wiffleball 4,790 Posted February 8, 2017 Seinfeld was pretty good during its initial run. I wouldn't say it was must-see TV, but I watched pretty regularly. Now, years later, I cant watch the reruns. The neurotic nature of the characters and general overall unfunny-ness of Seinfeld himself make me skip right past them. As unfunny And as un entertaining as the final episodes were, I think they successfully captured the heart of the criticism about that show. I mean for fucksake, they would take the most minor thing And make an entire episode about it. Like a really give a s*** about a character who loses his mind Because he didn't get a pickle with his corned beef sandwich? There were so many times that I just wanted to scream at the TV would you let it f****** go already?
Big Blue 06 195 Posted February 8, 2017 This Is Us. The more I hear people talk about how wonderful it is or what an epic show, the angrier I get. I initially gave up after trying it for one episode. It was alright, but didn't hook me. After all this hype, I went back and tried one more. Nope. Still not good.

BLS 314 Posted February 8, 2017 Finally saw a couple episodes of game of thrones. Some hot naked chicks, but the story is pretty meh IMO. I watched the first 5 episodes and then gave up on it. Too much going on. I started it over last winter with the fiance and by the time we were 6 episodes in, we were totally hooked. There's a lot going on, but it keeps things interesting. Great show. I think if you sit down and give it a chance, you'll love it.

vuduchile 1,945 Posted February 8, 2017 This is what happened to me with Lost. Yeah. Lost lost me after the first season. My wife stayed with it though. I stayed with SOA for a few seasons, but it just kept getting too far fetched for me.

wiffleball 4,790 Posted February 8, 2017 Honestly, I know there is a plethora of content out there these days and multiple platforms upon which To view various content. The damn, I just don't have the time Or energy To get wrapped up And Game of Thrones or any of these things that you have to follow Like you're studying for a dam Term paper. On the flip side, I can't stand Reality shows Or the insipid so-called sitcoms On television.I've never done it, but I bet If I listed all the shows that I watch, I'd be lucky To have two handfuls.More often than not I find myself Racing through the channels Two or three times, Finding nothing, Turning off the TV And surfing the web Or watching YouTube Videos. I guess my initial point was, I'm sure some of the shows are really great and Some people have put a lot of work into them. But I can really only commit to One or two serial Type of shows That you have to keep up with At a time. I am sure I would have loved To have Watched Longmire, or Deadwood, Or a dozen other shows, But God damn, Theres only so much time. I would like to see some sort of consolidation though. It seems like every Network and every platform Has at least one good show. But I can't keep track of the one good show on A&E, and the one good show on Hulu, and the one good show on Netflix, In the one good show on gagel, in the one good show on uppity,Etcetera. tanatastic 2,062 Posted February 8, 2017 This is what happened to me with Lost. I disagree about SOA falling off. I thoroughly enjoyed the show the whole way through. Even the "bad" seasons were still good, even if they weren't as good as the best ones.
